Zoo Done Moved the Apes: Bigger Cage, Same Old Struggle
Bristol Zoo tryna look woke, movin' the gorillas outta the city, but real talk, is they lives any better?

Aight, so check it: Bristol Zoo done packed up the gorillas and shipped 'em out to some new spot on the edge of town. Sayin' it's a 'African forest' now, four times bigger than before. Sound good, right? But lemme keep it 100, is this real progress, or just a fresh coat of paint on the same old cage?
The story goes, some cat snuck in and snapped pics of the gorillas lookin' bummed in they old spot. Next thing you know, they movin' the whole crew, cops and all. Now they climbin' trees and chowing on hawthorn. But they still behind bars, feel me?.
And get this: the silverback, Jock, the OG, he pass away like a week after the move. They say it was some heart thing, but stress kill, too, ya know? That's how the system works. Put you in a new situation, mess wit your head, and watch you fade.
They talkin' 'bout how this new spot is better, more natural. But these apes ain't in Africa, they in Bristol. They still dependin' on humans for everything. Plus, they gonna be sharin' the spot with mangabeys and some rescue parrots. Sounds like a sideshow, not a sanctuary.
The whole thing feel like a PR stunt. Zoo tryna look good, tryna get that woke stamp of approval. But what about the gorillas? Is they gettin' the respect they deserve? Or are they just props in a rich folks game?
They say Bristol been down with gorillas since the 30s, back when they was walkin' 'em on leashes. Things changed since then, but the power dynamic still the same. Humans in charge, animals on display. Ain't nothin' changed but the scenery.
They act like the apes gettin' a upgrade when its a new cage in a new spot. Long as they ain't free ain't none of that matter. Gotta stop gassin' these folks up for stuff they just should be doin. Put the gorillas back where they from at.
Real talk, this ain't a win for the gorillas. It's a win for the zoo's image. It's a win for the folks who wanna feel good about visitin' a cage. But for the apes, it's just another day in captivity. Keep it locked, stay woke, and don't fall for the hype.
