Vermont Trippin', Bans Paraquat Herbicide Over Some Parkinson's Ish
First state in the US to ban this weed killer, but is it really lookin' out for the people, or is it just more of the same?

Aight, so Vermont just did some wild sh*t, y'heard? They straight up banned paraquat, that herbicide they been sprayin' on crops since way back. Said somethin' 'bout it givin' folks Parkinson's. Gov signed that paper like it was hotcakes, but let's keep it 100, is this really for us?
They been usin' this sh*t since '64, killin' weeds in everything from soybeans to cotton. Now, all of a sudden, it's a problem? They sayin' the NIH did some studies linkin' it to Parkinson's and even leukemia in kids. That's messed up, for real.
This lady, State Rep Michelle Bos-Lun, said, "There are so many factors that are pointing to the correlation … between paraquat use and Parkinson’s. We have to do something to phase this out. Our job is to support farmers and to support all Vermonters. My belief is that paraquat is causing harm to both." Word, but where was this energy before?
But peep this, the ban ain't even a full ban right away. Farmers get a pass to keep sprayin' that poison on their fruit trees and berries 'til 2030! That's like sayin', 'We care about your health, but not really.' They also gonna do a study on alternatives, which sounds like a whole lotta nothin'.
This sht's been banned in other countries for years, but here in the US, it's business as usual. Syngenta, the big company that makes this stuff, been denyin' the whole Parkinson's link forever. But peep the lawsuits, over 8,000 of 'em, all sayin' this sht messed 'em up. That's crazy. They settled some cases, but ain't admit nothin'. Classic corporate move.
Syngenta said they ain't gonna make it no more, but other companies still sellin' it. They ain't gonna stop until the stacks stop coming. Bottom line. These companies ain't got no soul.
This ban is supposed to help the community but I ain't holding my breath. I mean it gotta start somewhere right? But real talk is it too late already?
And what about the folks who been workin' in those fields for years? What kinda healthcare they gettin'? What kinda support? This ain't just about Vermont, this about the whole system. They tryin to act like they care now? We see through that bullsh*t.
The government wants to act like they are doing us a favor, by phasing out this chemical that has caused mass devastation to a community, and it's about time they did.
