Trump's Task Force in Memphis: Feds Accused of Heavy-Handed Tactics Against the Watchdogs
ACLU lawsuit sayin' these task force agents ain't playin' fair, targetin' folks tryna keep 'em in check – straight up harassment, fam.

MEMPHIS, TN – Aight, so check it: This Trump-ordered anti-crime task force that rolled up into Memphis is catchin' heat. ACLU hit 'em with a lawsuit claimin' they ain't just fightin' crime, they tryna silence the people watchin' them. We talkin' 'bout intimidation tactics, tailin' cars, surveillancin' folks' cribs, and even throwin' some wrongful arrests in the mix. Sounds like the same ol' song and dance, different verse. Remember, this task force came 'cause Trump said Memphis crime was outta control, right? So the Gov activated the National Guard, brought in two thousand state and feds tryna clean up the streets. Now, it seems like they sweepin' up everything including people who tryna make sure they doin' things right.
Hunter Demster, lead plaintiff in this case, sayin' the task force been watchin' his house and other activists. He talkin' 'bout a situation where a masked dude in a black SUV almost ran him over. That's some next-level intimidation right there. And James West, retired doctor, had his Global Entry revoked after startin' to photograph these cats. Come on now, that's petty. Then Jessica Chodor talkin' 'bout gettin' tackled to the ground for recordin' the police. You know how it goes, record the police and they act like a child.
The U.S. Marshals ain't sayin' nothin' about the allegations. Shocker. This ain't nothin' new. We seen this movie before. Feds come to the hood with promises of cleanin' things up, but it always ends up with somebody's rights gettin' violated. Ain't sayin' crime ain't a problem, but the way they handlin' it ain't the answer. These community observers play a key role in protecting the community by making sure the cops do things above board.
This ain't just 'bout some lawsuit, it's 'bout power. Who gets to watch who? Who gets to hold who accountable? The system ain't built for us to win, but we gotta keep fightin'. We gotta keep speakin' truth to power, even when it's scary. We gotta keep lookin' out for each other and holdin' each other down. This is deeper than just politics, it's about survival in a system that's constantly tryin' to oppress us.
The hood been through worse, though. We resilient, we resourceful, and we ain't goin' nowhere. They can bring in all the task forces they want, but they can't break our spirit. We gotta stay vigilant, stay organized, and stay ready to fight for what's right. 'Cause at the end of the day, it's us against the world. And we gotta look out for our own. The real question is, who's watchin' the watchmen? And what happens when the watchmen start actin' like the oppressors?
