They Out Here Trying to Lock Up Sisters Now: The New Republican Plan for Abortions
Politicians promised they would never put women in handcuffs over abortions, but now they are changing up the game because their bans aren't working.

Let’s keep it a hundred: the politicians have been lying to us from day one. When they overturned Roe v. Wade back in 2022, they tried to act like they were only going after the doctors and the clinic owners. They swore up and down they’d never lock up the women. But now that the dust has settled, the numbers are coming out, and the game has completely changed. Despite all these red states passing total bans, the actual number of abortions across the country went up. People are still getting their procedures done by traveling or getting pills shipped straight to their doors.
So now, the anti-abortion crowd is mad because their bans aren't stopping nothing. They’re realizing that people are always going to find a way to take care of their business, law or no law. And instead of looking in the mirror and realizing they can't control people's bodies, these hardline politicians are trying to level up the punishment. There is a huge push on the right now to start throwing women in jail for getting abortions, treating it just like a homicide case.
This is a major shift from how they used to talk. They used to play nice and act like the women were just victims who got tricked by the system. But that fake sympathy is gone. Now, these right-wing groups are trying to pass laws in states like Louisiana and Texas that would put sisters in handcuffs for taking an abortion pill. They want to use slick legal terms like "fetal personhood" to turn a medical decision into a felony charge that could put you behind bars for life.
And we already know who is going to catch the worst of this. It’s not going to be the rich folks who can just hop on a flight to California or New York whenever they want. It’s going to be the poor women in our communities who don't have the money to travel, and who have to rely on ordering pills online. They are the ones who are going to get targeted by the police, have their phones searched, and end up facing major time in the system.
The conservative politicians are fighting amongst themselves about this because some of them know it looks terrible to be locking up mothers and young girls. But the loudest, most extreme voices are taking over the movement, and they don't care about the backlash. They want total control, and they’re willing to use the police and the prisons to get it.
This whole situation is a wake-up call. They tried to tell us this was about "saving lives," but now we see the real plan is just to feed more people into the prison-industrial complex. The war on women is getting real ugly, and the community needs to stay woke to how these laws are being rewritten to lock us up.
