These Domestic Violence Registries: Is It Really Gon' Protect Black Women?
Politicians tryna look good with these registries, but will it actually stop dudes from beatin' on they girls in the crib?

Aight, so peep this. These states out here tryna start domestic violence registries, right? Like some kinda list of dudes who be puttin' they hands on women. Tennessee already jumped the gun, and now everybody else tryna get in on the action. They sayin' it's gonna protect women, but is it really?
They tryna make it like the sex offender list, so women can check it before they start datin' a dude. But let's be real, how many of these cats actually gettin' arrested for real? Most of this stuff happens behind closed doors, and folks be scared to snitch. So, who gon' be on this list anyway?
This whole thing sound like some kinda PR stunt for these politicians. They tryna look like they doin' somethin' about domestic violence, but it's just for show. It ain't gon' solve the root of the problem.
Some lady from ZeroV is worried about 'negative consequences for survivors.' Basically, she scared women ain't gon' report abuse if they know they man gon' get put on the list. Cause, you know, folks don't wanna make things worse for theyself.
And what about the dudes who ain't on the list yet? The ones who good at hidin' they crazy side until they got you trapped? This registry ain't gon' protect nobody from them.
The CDC sayin' a bunch of folks been through violence. No duh. And some study sayin' abusers gon' abuse again. Tell me somethin' I don't know. So, the answer is a registry? That's the best they got?
This sound like more government tryna stick they nose where it don't belong. They gon' be puttin' folks on this list for nothin'. You get into a argument with your girl, next thing you know, you on the registry.
This law in Tennessee named after some sheriff's deputy who got killed. That's messed up, but that don't mean we need to be trackin' every dude who ever raised they voice to a woman.
These politicians sayin' this registry gon' 'protect individuals.' Nah, it's gon' protect they careers when it's time to vote.
The truth is, domestic violence is a real problem in the Black community, but these registries ain't the answer. We need to be talkin' about respect, communication, and gettin' help for folks who need it. We need to address the poverty, lack of jobs, and the other things that be makin' folks stressed out and violent. But hey, that's just my two cents.
