Scotland Throwin' Money at Rich Folks' Problems: SMA Testin' Babies?
They screenin' babies for some rare disease now? Meanwhile, the clinic still ain't got enough doctors and rent still too damn high. Real talk.

Aight, so check it. Scotland, right? They just started screenin' all the newborn babies for this thing called Spinal Muscular Atrophy, SMA. Sounds serious, right? But hold up, this whole thing feelin' kinda sus.
SMA, from what I'm hearin', is a rare genetic thing that mess wit yo' muscles. Affects like one in 14,000 babies, worldwide. Now, I ain't sayin' it ain't a problem, but is this really where they need to be puttin' the bread?
They sayin' this whole thing started cuz this singer, Jesy Nelson, from some group called Little Mix, found out her kids got it. Now all of a sudden, it's a whole situation. Like, I feel for her, but come on. Seems like if you got money and a platform, you automatically jump to the front of the line.
The government and some drug company, Novartis, they kickin' in the funds for this 'evaluation.' You already know what that means. Big Pharma tryna get they hands in the cookie jar. Always follows the money, man.
What about the folks on the block, tho? What about the single moms workin' two jobs, can't even afford daycare? What about the people waitin' months just to see a damn doctor? They ain't got no pop star to fight for them. That's the real tea.
Three or four babies a year born with this in Scotland, and they gettin' all this attention. Meanwhile, how many kids growin' up in poverty, ain't got access to good food or a safe place to live? Where the screenin' for that at?
They got these NHS-funded drugs now, which is cool, but who gonna make sure everybody get access? You know how it go. If you ain't know the right people or jump through the right hoops, you get left behind. It's all a game.
And yeah, I heard 'bout this petition Jesy Nelson started, got over 100,000 signatures. Real talk, that's power. But why it take a celebrity to bring attention to this? Regular folks been hollerin' 'bout this kinda stuff for years. Ain't nobody listen 'til a rich person speak up.
This whole thing just feels like another way for the system to look good, while the real problems stay the same. They tryna distract us with shiny objects, while they pickin' our pockets. Can't fall for it.
So, yeah, screenin' for SMA might help some babies. But don't let it blind you to the bigger picture. The system still rigged, and the rich still gettin' richer. Stay woke, y'all. Stay woke.
