RIP Ted Turner: The Man Who Gave Us CNN, For Better or Worse
From 'Chicken Noodle News' to the 24/7 news cycle, how did Turner's vision change the game, and who really benefited?

Yo, check it. Ted Turner just cashed out, man. The dude who started CNN, that 24-hour news thing we all love to hate. 87 years, ain't bad. But real talk, how did his hustle affect the hood?
CNN started in Atlanta, right? A black city. But who was really running things? Who was getting the bag? That's always the question, fam.
They say he got the idea from 24-hour radio and ESPN. So, he saw a way to make money off information and entertainment. Smart, I guess. But was he thinking about the community? Nah, he was thinking about the Benjamins.
Then Fox and MSNBC came along, and now everybody got a channel pushing their own agenda. Dividing us even more. Thanks, Ted? I dunno, man.
He was supposed to be liberal, but CNN always felt kinda sus. Like they weren't really telling the whole story. Glossing over the real issues, you feel me?
This cat Eason Jordan called him a 'visionary' and all that. But from where I'm standing, he just saw a chance to make a grip and ran with it. No different from these other corporations.
I heard a story about him introducing Raquel Welch to the newsroom in bathrobes at 4 in the morning. That's some boss sh*t, I ain't gonna lie. But it also shows you the kind of world he was living in. Privileged, you know?
Back in the day, folks called CNN 'Chicken Noodle News.' Now it's just straight-up propaganda. They control the narrative, and we gotta fight to get our voices heard.
So, rest in peace, Ted Turner. You changed the game, whether we liked it or not. But it's up to us to make sure the news is really for the people, by the people. No cap.
We gotta build our own platforms, tell our own stories. Can't rely on these corporations to do it for us. That's the real revolution.
