Real Talk: Tucker and MTG Pack Their Bags and Leave the GOP Over Trump's Wild New War
The Republican party is in shambles as their biggest stars bounce, leaving Trump beefing with his former ride-or-dies while gas and grocery prices keep hurting the streets.

Look, the block is hot in Washington right now, and the Republican house is officially burning down. Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene—the two loudest voices on the right—just packed up their bags and officially quit the Republican Party. These two used to ride heavy for Donald Trump, but now they’re completely done with him and his second-term antics. And honestly? It’s leaving the whole conservative movement looking incredibly messy.
The real reason they bounced is simple: Trump’s out here starting a whole new war with Iran while regular people are struggling to survive. Tucker and MTG are pointing out the obvious—the government is pouring billions into foreign fights while the rest of us are drowning in high gas prices and crazy inflation. They’re saying Trump cares way more about overseas drama than the actual people struggling to pay rent.
Of course, Trump didn't take this sitting down. He’s out here acting like a salty ex, throwing mad shade and calling MTG a "traitor" while claiming Tucker is a "low-IQ person." The rest of the Republican establishment is trying to claim these two are just bitter haters, but the truth is they’ve exposed some real, deep cracks in the foundation of the party.
This beef has been brewing for a minute, especially when it comes to Israel. MTG was actually the very first Republican in Congress to call out Israel’s actions in Gaza as a "genocide." Tucker took it a step further, saying Trump totally betrayed the people who voted for him by letting Israel push him into a war with Iran. Plus, Tucker got himself into some hot water after doing a soft interview with white nationalist influencer Nick Fuentes, which had people calling him antisemitic, though he denied all of it.
Now, everyone knows MTG has said some incredibly wild things in the past—nobody is ever going to let her live down that line about "Nancy Pelosi’s gazpacho police"—but she and Tucker still have serious pull. They are looking like major players for the 2028 presidential run because they hold all the keys to the "America First" crowd. That’s a completely different vibe from Trump’s MAGA squad.
This whole fight actually goes back to history. The original "America First" movement from 1940 to 1941 was all about keeping the U.S. out of World War II. It started out nonpartisan but got messy and ended up tied to the populist nationalism and antisemitism of Charles Lindbergh. That movement was all about keeping U.S. money and lives out of foreign wars, which is exactly what Tucker is preaching now, acting like old-school isolationist Senator Robert Taft.
