Mississippi Pullin' Some Shady Ish: Redistricting at the Old Capitol, Fo Real?
They tryin' to play us, holdin' court districts redraw at a spot wit' mad racist history – ain't nothin' changed.

Aight, listen up. Mississippi House tryna pull a fast one. They sayin' they gotta redraw the court districts 'cause the main spot gettin' fixed up. So where they gon' do it? The Old Capitol. Yeah, that Old Capitol, where they made laws to keep black folks down back in the day. This ain't no accident, fam.
Jason White, the Speaker, sayin' any special sessions 'til 2027 gonna be at the Old Capitol. Senate still at the new spot, tho. Sounds kinda sus, right?
Old Capitol ain't seen action since '09, some Katrina ceremony. Before that, it was the old high school during renovations. But now, all of a sudden, it's the Old Capitol? Nah, son, this ain't right.
Kabir Karriem, from the Black Caucus, said it best: "Optics are horrific for 1.2 million Black folks." Word. They tryna gaslight us, actin' like it ain't a big deal.
The Supreme Court done messed things up wit' that Louisiana v. Callais case, hurtin' the Voting Rights Act. Now they gotta redraw these districts. Governor Reeves called 'em back for this BS.
And Trump? He chimin' in, sayin' they should redraw the congressional districts to get Bennie Thompson outta there. He the only Black Democrat in Congress from Mississippi. They ain't even tryin' to hide it no more.
Safia Malin from One Voice Mississippi callin' it a "deliberately or intentionally cruel attempt." That's the realest thing I heard all day. They wanna remind us where we came from, and that they still got the power.
Cheikh Taylor, the Mississippi Dem chair, hit it on the head: it's about power, and makin' sure Black folks don't get too much of it. They doin' this at the same spot where Mississippi said "Peace out" to the Union to keep slavin' us. This ain't no coincidence, ya heard?
They wanna keep us down, keep us voiceless. They wanna remind us of Jim Crow and all that mess. But we ain't forgettin'. We gotta stay woke and fight back against this mess. They think they slick, but we seein' through they games.
Background: The Old Capitol is a symbol of oppression and the struggle for Black folks to gain equality. It's a reminder of a past they want to keep alive.
Analysis: This move is designed to disenfranchise Black voters and maintain white control of Mississippi politics. It's straight-up racist and disrespectful.
