Louisiana Primary Trippin': Guv's Delay Got Folks Heated
Supreme Court sayin' the map ain't right, so the election on pause – but the community ain't havin' it.

Aight, so check it. Louisiana, man, they always got somethin' brewin'. This time, the guv done pulled a fast one and delayed the May primary 'cause the Supreme Court said the congressional map was bogus. Word is, that map was straight up gerrymandered, makin' it hard for Black folks to get they voices heard. Now everybody throwin' fits.
Folks already sue'n, sayin' the delay ain't nothin' but voter suppression. They sayin' it's gonna be harder for folks to vote, especially in the Black community. This ain't new, tho. Louisiana got a long history of tryin' to keep Black folks from votin'. From literacy tests back in the day to all these new ID laws, they always tryna play games.
The Supreme Court stepped in and said the map wasn't legit, sayin' it watered down Black folks' voting power. Now they gotta redraw the map so we can actually have a chance to elect somebody who represents us. But the guv delayin' the election? That ain't right.
This ain't just about some election, tho. This about power. It's about who gets to make the decisions and who gets left out. They always messin' with the districts to try and keep certain people in power, and it's always the same people who get screwed over. The community ain't stupid, tho. We see what they doin'.
This whole thing is messin' with the whole state, too. They gotta redraw them lines, and get this done quick so the real election can happen. They need to make sure everybody knows what the new districts are, and give people time to register to vote.
They gotta prioritize making sure everybody can get their voice heard. The time for playing games done passed. This about the future of the community. If they mess this up, then it's just gon be harder for our voices to get heard in the game, ya dig?
