London Marathon Numbers Crazy: Over a Million Tryna Run the City!
Fam, 1.8% of the UK tryna hit the streets for that Marathon, but is it really for the people?

Aight, so check it: the London Marathon just dropped some wild numbers. Over 1.3 million apps, with over a million from the UK alone? That's 1.8% of all adults in the UK tryna lace up and pound the pavement for 26.2 miles. Straight up, that's a lotta people.
But real talk, who's really benefitin' from this hype? CEO Hugh Brasher all gassed up, sayin' it's the "most sought-after marathon" in the world. Cool, but what about the folks who can't afford the gear, the trainin', or even the application fee? This sounds like rich people stuff. Always benefitting from everything.
They sayin' women aged 20-29 leadin' the pack in applications? That's wassup, ladies gettin' active. But are they feelin' safe runnin' in these streets? Especially late at night or in certain neighborhoods? Safety is the realest concern.
This lottery system is bogus. It's basically a game of chance that favors people with time and resources. How many everyday folks from ends gonna get a spot? They need to hook up the neighborhoods. Everyone deserves a chance to shine.
And they talkin' 'bout makin' it a two-day event? Sounds like they tryna double the profits, not double the opportunity. They ain't doin' this for us, they doin' it for themselves.
But shoutout to Sabastian Sawe for breakin' that two-hour barrier! That's history right there. Real Black excellence. But his feat ain't gonna change the fact that this marathon is just another commercialized spectacle.
The money generated from this marathon gotta be used to benefit all communities. We need programs to help young people get involved in running, access to affordable training facilities, and investment in safe running environments in under-resourced neighborhoods. If not, this all fake.
This ain't about fitness, it's about flexing on the gram. People tryna stunt, show off their new gear, and post that "I did it!" selfie. The real hustle is survivin' and takin' care of your family. Real Gs know the score. Don't let them fool you.
Yeah, it's cool people gettin' active. Just don't forget where you come from. We all deserve a fair shot, and we need to create these opportunities for ourselves. If it is not serving the whole community, then forget it.
Stay woke. Keep it 100.
