LA Mayoral Race: They Finally Talkin' 'Bout Restaurants, But Where Was the Love Before?
Candidates claimin' they care 'bout the hospitality game now? Nah, gotta keep it 100, somethin' ain't right.
Aight, so check it. Tuesday's the big day, mayoral primary and all that. All of a sudden, these candidates tryna act like they always been down with the restaurant scene? Nah, son. Where was this energy when folks was struggling to stay afloat during lockdown?
LA's restaurant game is real, it's how a lot of us eat, and how a lot of us make a living. We talking line cooks, servers, dishwashers - folks hustlin' just to make rent. But these politicians ain't been showin' no love until it's time to get votes.
They talkin' 'bout supportin' the industry, but what that really mean? Tax breaks for the big boys while the lil mom-and-pop shops still can't catch a break? Gotta see the receipts, cuz talk is cheap.
They sayin' they gon' help, but we seen this movie before. Promises, promises, then back to business as usual. They'll be eatin' good at fancy spots while folks on the block still tryna figure out how they gonna feed they families. No cap.
We need real change, not just empty words. We need policies that uplift the whole community, not just the rich and powerful. That means livable wages, affordable healthcare, and a fair shake for everyone.
Stop playin' games with the community. We see through the BS. Show us some action, show us some love, and then maybe we'll start believin'. But until then, we gon' keep it real and call it like we see it.
Don't let 'em fool ya. Do your homework, know who you votin' for, and make sure they really representin' your interests. This ain't no game, this is about our future. And we ain't lettin' nobody play us for fools.
At the end of the day, we gotta look out for each other. Support our local restaurants, tip your servers, and keep the community strong. Cuz ain't nobody else gonna do it for us. Stay woke and stay true.
Real talk tho, where was the love before, man? These politicians better back up all the talking they be doing now. Or we’ll know it was all cap.
