Kenyan School Fire: Dem Kids Didn't Deserve Dat, Man
Another school fire done took lil' lives, and ain't nobody talkin' 'bout the real issues.

Yo, what's good, fam? Straight up, this news outta Kenya got me messed up. Fifteen lil' girls gone in a school fire? That ain't right, man. That just ain't right. Utumishi girls academy, Gilgil – remember the name. These sistas deserved better.
They say it was overnight, fire ripped through the dorm. Police report sayin' at least fifteen dead. Agence France-Presse talkin' 'bout sixteen, mostly kids, 73 in the hospital. What kinda mess is that? Two hundred and twenty girls sleepin' in one dorm? That's a whole lotta lives packed tight, just waitin' for somethin' to go wrong.
And this ain't even the first time, ya heard? 2024, same kinda thing happened to some boys. 2017, nine girls died in Kibera, the biggest slum in Nairobi. It's like these kids ain't safe nowhere. They go to school to get a better life, and end up losin' it all.
They try to tell us it's just a tragedy, an accident. But nah, man. This is 'bout somethin' deeper. This is 'bout the system failin' these kids. A 2022 report sayin' most schools ain't ready for no fire? What kinda foolishness is that? Where the money goin', huh? Where the resources at? It's always the same, the ones who got the least end up payin' the most.
The Red Cross on the scene, tryin' to help. Police searchin' for kids who ran off scared. Masoud Mwinyi talkin' 'bout combinin' the area. But what 'bout preventin' this from happenin' again? What 'bout makin' sure these schools is safe for our youth?
I'm seein' parents showin' up, lookin' for they babies. Wambui Nderitu tellin' the BBC her niece broke her leg jumpin' outta the window. Can you imagine that fear? Jumpin' from the top floor just to escape the flames? That's some real trauma, man. That's somethin' them kids gonna carry for life.
We gotta start demandin' better for our kids, worldwide. They ain't got no voice, so we gotta be they voice. Stop lettin' these politicians and these institutions get away with this neglect. Hold 'em accountable. Make 'em do they job.
This ain't just a Kenya thing, neither. We see this same stuff happenin' in the States, in the hood. Underfunded schools, outdated equipment, lack of resources. It's all connected, man. It's all the same struggle.
So, let's pour one out for the fifteen gone too soon. Let's pray for the ones in the hospital. And let's get to work, ya heard? Let's make sure this never happens again. 'Cause these kids deserved better, and we gotta make sure the next generation gets what they need to survive and thrive. No cap.
Real talk, this ain't just news, this is a wake-up call. We gotta get our communities together and demand change. Ain't nobody gonna do it for us. So, let's get it poppin' and make some noise for them babies. RIP to the fallen angels. We gon' fight for you.
