ICE Got Heat, Fo Real: Protests Pop Off Outside Jersey Detention Center
Feds Deny Guv Entry, Detainees On Hunger Strike, and the Streets Ain't Happy.
Aight, listen up. Sh*t's gettin' real outside that Delaney Hall ICE spot in Jersey. Folks is out there wildin', throwin' up signs, yellin' at them ICE agents. They ain't playin', man. Word is, they tryna form a human chain to shut that place down. That's how you show solidarity, y'know?
See, that BS they doin' to folks inside ain't right. Guv Sherrill tried to step in and see what's crackalackin', but them feds shut her down cold. Denied entry. She straight up said it raised questions about "what they are trying to hide from public view." Like, duh. If you ain't got nothin' to hide, why you blockin' access?
Inside, things is even crazier. Hunnid's of detainees done started a hunger strike. They sayin' conditions is inhumane, ain't gettin' proper medical care, can't see they fam. This ain't no game, y'all. We talkin' about people's lives.
They even wrote a letter, sayin' they feel "kidnapped". They like, 'We ask for forgiveness for how we came here, but our lives was in danger back home.' Then they get locked up and treated like animals? That's some straight-up injustice.
The DHS spokesperson, they tryin' to spin the story, sayin' everybody gettin' three meals, clean water, clothes, the whole nine. But we ain't born yesterday, man. We know how they treatin' folks. Same system that locked up our brothers and sisters for decades is now doing it to immigrants. The struggle is REAL.
Family members been holdin' vigil outside since Friday. They ain't givin' up on they loved ones. That's what we gotta do, too. Stand up, speak out, and demand justice. No more cages, no more separation, no more ICE. Period.
Politicians need to step up, too. It ain't enough to just show up and take a picture. They need to put some action behind they words. Close down these damn detention centers and treat folks with some respect.
This sh*t ain't just about immigrants, y'all. It's about all of us. If they can do this to them, they can do it to anybody. We gotta fight for each other. Black, brown, white – we all in this together. Keep ya head up and stay woke.
