Green Party's Zack Tryna Holla at the Unions: Is He For Real?
Polanski tryna get unions to switch up and fund the Greens, sayin' they the only ones lookin' out for the working class, but is it just more empty promises?

Aight, so check it: Zack Polanski, the head honcho of the Green Party, been out here politickin', tryna get the trade unions to ditch Labour and throw some paper his way. He's talkin' that talk about how the Greens the only ones really down for the working class and fightin' for the people, but is this dude really 'bout it, or just another politician playin' the game?
Word on the street is Polanski been havin' “good convos” with like, ten unions, some of 'em already rollin' with Labour. He's plannin' to slide through to the University and College Union and the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union too, even though they ain't tied to Labour. He's tryna get that bag from every angle, ya feel?
Now, the big dogs – Unite and Unison – they sayin' they still rockin' with Labour, ain't nothin' changed. But peep this: Unite is low-key thinkin' 'bout switchin' up, holdin' internal talks 'bout their future with Labour. They got a special conference comin' in '27 where they might just bounce. And they done cut their Labour membership fees by mad bread already, like £580,000. Somethin's brewin', for real.
Some folks inside the unions callin' Polanski's moves a whole lotta nothin'. They ain't buyin' what he's sellin', sayin' it's just political games. But the streets are talkin', and the Greens been gettin' more popular lately, ever since they snatched that byelection win in Gorton and Denton. Membership tripled since September, so somethin' must be clickin' with the people.
The Greens sayin' Polanski's mission is to replace Labour, and gettin' tight with the unions is key. They claimin' the working class is gravitatin' towards the Greens 'cause they focusin' on the cost of livin' and fightin' for workers' rights. But lemme tell you somethin', talk is cheap. We need to see some action, some real change, not just empty promises.
Polanski hit up the National Education Union (NEU) conference in Brighton, laid down some truth about the government's messed-up education system. He promised to scrap Ofsted, throw more money at schools, and stop all that academisation nonsense. Got a standin' ovation, but can he deliver, though?
He said education been “pushed to the brink” by budget cuts and crazy policies. He called out Labour for just playin' around the edges, not makin' real moves. Polanski sayin' he gonna bring real change, funded by taxin' the rich. He called Ofsted a “toxic, failed institution” and said them academies ain't workin' neither. Sounds good, but we heard it all before.
