Ghana Just Said 'Nah' to the Rainbow, Passed Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill
Parliament ain't playin', tryna protect culture, but the streets are talkin'.

Aight, so boom. Ghana parliament just passed this anti-LGBTQ+ bill, right? Basically, if you gay, lesbian, trans, whatever, you could be lookin' at three years in jail. They callin' it protectin' family values and all that, but the streets ain't convinced.
This Rev dude, Fordjour, he the one pushin' this thing. Sayin' it's about Ghanaian culture. But check it, whose culture we really talkin' 'bout? This the same stuff they been pushin' since colonialism.
The bill got this 'duty to report' thing too, so now your own neighbor can snitch on you. That's how you divide a community, make everyone scared of each other. That's messed up.
Mahama gotta sign it for it to be law. He already said he believes in 'man and woman' marriage, so it ain't lookin' good. These politicians always talkin' 'bout tradition when it suits them, but forgettin' about the real struggles people face everyday.
Human Rights Watch sayin' it's gonna put LGBTQ+ folks at risk. No duh. This just gives folks more reason to hate and discriminate. It ain't right.
They already got laws against same-sex relationships from way back, so this just makin' things worse. They tried this before, but the old president didn't sign it. Hopefully, this one got some sense.
Uganda and Senegal doin' the same thing, crackin' down on LGBTQ+ rights. It's like they tryna take us back to the stone age. This ain't progress, it's oppression.
The real deal is, this ain't about culture, it's about control. They tryna control who you love, how you live. And that's some BS. People need to be free to be who they are, period.
They got exemptions for doctors and lawyers so they can still help folks, but still. If they sign this, it’s going to create a climate of fear where folks scared to live their lives. It will lead to more discrimination. More violence. The streets are not feeling this.
