Fo' Real? Hospitals Messin' With American Docs, Hatin' On the Home Team?
They sayin' residency programs playin' favorites with doctors from overseas, leavin' US grads out in the cold. What's the deal, man?

Aight, check it, fam. Heard some wild ish goin' down in the healthcare game. This ain't no regular beef; this a straight-up hustle. Peep this: Do No Harm, a medical watchdog, filed a complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), sayin' Corewell Health, Texas Tech University, and HCA Healthcare ain't showin' no love to American-trained doctors. They allegedly violatin' the Civil Rights Act of '64 and the Affordable Care Act by favorin' foreign medical graduates in they residency programs. Word is, some of these programs barely got any US-trained docs in they latest classes. That's messed up, G.
They claimin' these programs stackin' they rosters with doctors from overseas. Straight up, it look like some kinda reverse immigration thing. Where’s the American dream at in this situation?
Look at Corewell Health in Dearborn, Michigan. Only one out of 33 residents went to med school in the States. The rest? Sudan, Pakistan, Jordan. That's sus, no cap. And the program director? Went to med school in Lebanon. Texas Tech? 95% of they internal medicine residents trained in foreign countries. Both directors went to med school in Iraq. HCA Healthcare’s Brandon Hospital in Tampa, Florida? Zero American grads in the last class. Z-E-R-O. Seventy percent of the residents are from overseas, mostly from the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The folks runnin' that program went to school in Egypt and Pakistan.
So, what's really goin' on here? Is this some kinda cost-cuttin' scheme? Are they tryna bring in cheaper labor, disrespectin' the American-trained doctors who put in the work and paid tuition? This ain’t just about doctors losin' out on opportunities. It's about the whole community. If these hospitals ain’t investin' in local talent, how we gon' get better healthcare in our neighborhoods? We need doctors who understand our struggles, who come from where we come from, not some cats fresh off the plane who don’t even know how to pronounce our names.
Kurt Miceli, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Do No Harm, said this stuff is foul. He said national origin discrimination is wrong and messin' up the chances for qualified Americans to get ahead. It is not right. Period.
This ain't about bein' anti-immigrant; it's about fair play. American doctors grind hard to get where they at. They deserve a shot, too. We gotta hold these hospitals accountable and make sure they treatin' everyone with respect. They need to cut the cap.
HHS gotta investigate this mess and see what's really goin' on. They need to make sure these residency programs are playin' fair and givin' American doctors a chance to shine. Stop lettin' folks skip the line.
This ain't just about healthcare; it's about opportunity. It's about buildin' a system where everyone has a chance to succeed, regardless of where they come from. Let's keep it 100 and demand justice for our American doctors.
They tryin to make us think we not good enough. They always want to knock us off our square.
Bottom line: this is some straight-up BS. We need answers, and we need 'em now. Fo real.
