Don't Play with People's Food: Three Wendy's Workers Busted for Serving Spit-Covered Trash to a Customer
Three Union, South Carolina employees learned the hard way that crossing the line at the drive-thru will get you a fast ride to the county jail.

Look, there is one golden rule in the streets that you never, ever cross: you do not play with people’s food. But three Wendy's workers in Union, South Carolina—Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, 23, Trinity Lashell Rice, 19, and Shadela Crystal Holley—clearly missed the memo. Now, all three of them are locked up and facing serious criminal charges after they allegedly pulled a customer's returned meal straight out of the garbage, spit on it, and handed it right back to her like nothing happened.
This whole mess started on May 31 at the Wendy's drive-thru. A customer got her food, realized her order was messed up, and came back to get her money back. The staff took the food back, but then played nice and offered to remake the whole meal. The customer took the offer, grabbed the new bag, and started driving home. But she didn't even make it down the road before someone inside the store kept it one hundred and called her cell phone to warn her that the workers just dug her old food out of the trash, spit in it, and bagged it back up.
When the victim checked her bag, she saw the caller wasn't lying. She was holding the exact same dirty food she had just returned. She didn't hesitate—she called the cops immediately. Then she called the store manager, who basically confirmed the whole dirty play. The manager admitted he talked to the staff, verified they did indeed serve her spit-up garbage, and said he "wrote them up." A write-up for serving trash to a customer? That’s wild.
But the streets and the law don't play those games. The Union Public Safety Department stepped in, conducted an investigation, and went hunting for the suspects. Between June 16 and June 22, police arrested Sanders, Rice, and Holley separately. They aren't just facing some corporate slap on the wrist anymore—they are charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item, which is a heavy-duty charge in South Carolina that can land you behind bars for a long time.
Everyone knows fast-food jobs are stressful, wages are low, and customers can be extra. But spitting in someone's food and digging in the garbage is dirty, period. There’s no excuse for putting someone’s health at risk because you got your feelings hurt over a refund. Shoutout to the coworker who made that phone call and did the right thing, because without them, that customer would have been eating straight trash.
These three girls are about to find out that the courtroom is a lot different than the Wendy’s drive-thru. When you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes, and trying to poison a customer over a refund is about as stupid as it gets. Keep it clean, or prepare to eat that jail food.
