DHS Trippin': Sayin' Dem Staffer Tried to Sneak Phones to Detainees
Feds claimin' a staffer for Rep. Escobar was playin' lawyer at the ICE lockup – for real?

Aight, listen up, y'all. The DHS is on one, swearin' up and down that Benito Torres, a staffer for Rep. Veronica Escobar, was pullin' a fast one at the ICE facility. They sayin' this dude was out here impersonatin' a lawyer so he could get in and see the detainees at Camp East Montana. Straight up wildin'.
Now, the Feds are throwin' a whole lotta shade, claimin' this fool was lyin' 'bout bein' a lawyer for months. Months, fam! Apparently, ICE Director Todd Lyons already hit up Escobar 'bout it back in March, askin' her what's good. But instead of keepin' it 100, the DHS say Escobar jumped on Twitter to defend her boy. Real talk, that's kinda sus.
They even dropped a pic of the sign-in sheet, where Torres supposedly wrote down he was a "lawyer" visitin' a "client." Man, somebody gotta teach these cats how to finesse proper. ICE records show he first pulled this stunt back in September 2025. And on January 23rd, he tried to see 22 detainees, claimin' he was their attorney. That's a whole lotta clients for somebody who ain't even passed the bar, ya feel me?
The DHS even dropped a statement sayin' Torres "lied about being an attorney in order to gain access to an ICE detention facility." They clamin' he was talkin' directly to detainees even though he wasn't their lawyer. But the real kicker? They say he was passin' a PHONE around during a visit in January. A PHONE! That's a major security breach, no cap.
"Actions like Mr. Torres’ are meant to undermine ICE’s statutory mission to enforce immigration laws and remove illegal aliens from the interior," the DHS said. But let's be real, ICE's mission already suspect. They be tearin' families apart and throwin' folks in cages. Ain't nothin' but organized kidnapping, if you ask me.
Escobar, though, she stickin' by her guy. Callin' him a "dedicated public servant" and an "Army veteran," sayin' these accusations ain't got no truth to 'em. She even accused the Trump administration of playin' dirty, sayin' they retaliatin' against her 'cause she been callin' out ICE's BS. She mentioned deaths, disease outbreaks, and lack of medical care. That's some serious ish.
Now, whether Torres was really out here playin' lawyer or not, one thing's for sure: This whole situation is messy. It's the Feds against a Dem staffer, with a whole lotta politrickin' in between. But at the end of the day, it's the folks gettin' locked up in these ICE facilities who really pay the price. Gotta keep it real and stay woke.
Fox News Digital reached out to DHS and Escobar, but ain't nobody givin' up the tea. But you know how it is, things ain't always what they seem. So until we get the full story, gotta take everything with a grain of salt. Keep your eyes open and your mind right, y'all. Peace.
