Dems Show Up at ICE, See What's Really Goin' On
California politicians check out Otay Mesa detention center after court ruling, but is it just for show?

San Diego, CA – Word on the street is two California Democrats, Mike Levin and Sara Jacobs, rolled up to the Otay Mesa Detention Center the other day. This spot, run by CoreCivic, that for-profit prison game, been catchin' heat for how they treatin' folks. Overcrowding, bad conditions, sexual assault claims – you know the drill.
Levin was talkin' 'bout how he gonna pop up unannounced from now on, see what's really happenin'. That's cool and all, but we seen this movie before. Politicians makin' promises, then disappearin'. He said he wants to make sure people get treated with basic respect. We'll see if that's just lip service.
Otay Mesa holdin' like 1,500 people, mostly folks tryin' to get a better life. Levin was trippin' 'bout medical care, food, sleep, family visits, lawyer access – all the basic human needs. But these cats gettin' treated like animals, not people. Then there's the paperwork struggle, makin' it hard for detainees to get help. The whole system designed to keep 'em down.
They walked through the place, said it looked clean, food was edible. But that's what they showin' the politicians. Bet it ain't always like that. Most of the people inside wearin' blue, meanin' they ain't got no crazy rap sheet. So why they locked up in the first place? Seems like ICE just snatchin' up anybody they can find. Gotta fill them quotas, I guess.
Heard stories 'bout sexual assault in that place, too. CalMatters report said the Sheriff ain't even investigatin' the claims, lettin' the detention center handle it themselves. That's some shady business right there. Levin sayin' he gonna talk to the Sheriff about it. Hope he ain't just gonna sweep it under the rug.
CoreCivic also fightin' with health inspectors who say they couldn't get in to check the place out. Sounds like they got somethin' to hide. This all comin' down while Trump been buildin' up the detention camps. Numbers jumped from 42,000 to over 68,000 in a minute. They lockin' up more and more folks, makin' that private prison money.
CoreCivic ain't sayin' nothin'. What else is new? They too busy countin' that cash. This ain't just 'bout Otay Mesa, tho. It's 'bout the whole immigration system. Built on tearin' families apart and makin' a profit off people's misery.
We need more than just politicians takin' tours. We need real change. Shut down these for-profit prisons. Treat people with respect. Stop lockin' up innocent folks. It's time to get real and start fightin' for justice.
This whole situation just another example of how the system workin' against us. They buildin' walls, both physical and metaphorical, tryna keep us out. But we ain't goin' nowhere. We gonna keep fightin' for our rights, for our families, for our future. No justice, no peace.
It's on us to hold these politicians accountable. Don't let 'em get away with empty promises. Demand real action. Demand real change. We gotta be the voice for those who can't speak for themselves. It's time to rise up and show 'em what we stand for.
They can try to lock us up, but they can't lock up our spirit. We gonna keep pushin', keep fightin', until we get the justice we deserve. This ain't a game. This is real life. And we ain't backin' down.
