Artemis II Launch: They Reachin' for the Stars While We Still Hustlin' on Earth?
NASA shootin' for the moon, but back on the block, folks still struggle to put food on the table.
Aight, so they done launched another rocket, the Artemis II. Talkin' 'bout goin' back to the moon and all that. Sounds cool, right? But lemme keep it 100, who it really helpin'? They spendin' billions on this space sh*t while folks out here can't even afford rent.
Yeah, yeah, I hear 'em sayin' it's for science and technology, and it'll create jobs. But where them jobs at? And how many Black and brown folks gon' get a real slice of that pie? History tell us, not many. Remember Apollo? Same song, different verse.
They got time and money to explore other planets, but can't fix the potholes in my neighborhood or fund our schools properly. Priorities all messed up, man. It's always somethin' else gettin' funded before the community.
They talkin' 'bout inspiration, but what 'bout survival? What 'bout the single moms workin' two jobs, the kids dodgin' bullets on the way to school, the families losin' their homes? Space ain't gon' solve none of that.
I ain't hatin' on progress, but we gotta keep it real. This country got resources, but they ain't distributed right. They always findin' money for wars and space missions, but when it comes to takin' care of the people, suddenly the pockets empty.
They sellin' us dreams of the future while we fightin' for scraps in the present. It's a distraction, a way to keep us lookin' up while they pickpocket us down here. Don't fall for the okey-doke.
Real talk, I'm tryna build wealth, feed my family, and leave somethin' for the next generation. Space exploration ain't doin' none of that directly. They say it creates jobs, but those jobs are usually for a select few. The average person in the hood ain't seein' those benefits.
We gotta focus on buildin' our own communities, supportin' Black-owned businesses, and uplifting each other. Space is cool and all, but real change starts on Earth, right here, right now.
Don't let the shiny rockets blind you to the struggles around you. Stay woke, stay focused, and keep grindin'. We gotta make our own way, 'cause ain't nobody comin' to save us. Know what I'm sayin'? Keep it 100.
So, yeah, go to the moon. But when you get back, remember who's still fightin' for survival down here. And maybe, just maybe, throw us a lifeline instead of more stardust.
