AI Wildin' Out, New Crew Tryna Check the Tech Before It Checks Us
Alliance for a Better Future sayin' AI risks hurtin' kids and folks' jobs, needin' regs ASAP, for real, for real.

Aight, listen up. This AI stuff movin' too fast. They puttin' it in schools, workplaces, homes, everywhere. And this new group, the Alliance for a Better Future (ABF), they sayin' it's messin' with the kids and takin' folks' jobs, and ain't nobody doin' nothin' 'bout it. They tryna get Washington to put some rules in place, keep this tech in check.
ABF's CEO, Janet Kelly, she out here sayin' we gotta think 'bout the kids. "We know that we've got to decide, is this great new technology going to be something that propels kids into the future or something that causes harm to them?" she said. Straight up, is this gonna help 'em or hurt 'em? 'Cause right now, it feelin' like they experimentin' on our young'uns.
The Alliance for a Better Future tryna get some AI rules in place, especially with this tech movin' into schools and workplaces. They dropped a video of parents testifyin' 'bout how AI chat bots messed up they kids, some even thinkin' 'bout endin' it all. That's heavy, man. Shows you this ain't no joke.
They sayin' they pro-tech, but also pro-family, tryna find a balance. "We believe that it's possible to make great AI with American values, not just Silicon Valley values," Kelly said. Word? What 'American values' we talkin' 'bout? 'Cause Silicon Valley only care 'bout the bag. They ain't thinkin' 'bout the community.
ABF plan on hittin' up the feds and the state, with ads and campaigns, puttin' at least eight figures behind it. That's real money, but is it enough to fight Big Tech? They been runnin' things for a minute now. This AI stuff is gonna change the game, but who gonna benefit? That's the question.
This group buildin' on past battles for online safety, bringin' folks together. Dr. Brad Littlejohn leadin' they policy council, and they got folks from the Family Policy Alliance, National Center on Sexual Exploitation, and others. They tryna keep it real, but we gotta see what they really 'bout.
AI movin' into everything with barely any oversight. That's dangerous, especially for the young and the vulnerable. Policymakers gotta wake up and put some rules in place, protect the people before it's too late.
This AI situation feelin' like the internet all over again. They promised it would connect everyone, but it just made the rich richer and the poor poorer. We gotta make sure AI don't do the same thing. It gotta be used for good, not just for profits.
