Woolies Playin' Games With Prices? ACCC on Their Azz!
They sayin' the supermarket giant hidin' price hikes behind them 'Prices Dropped' stickers, tryna finesse the community.

Aight, listen up, fam. Woolworths, that big supermarket chain, is in hot water. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is on they neck 'cause they allegedly been playin' games with them 'Prices Dropped' deals. Word on the street is, they been pumpin' up the prices before puttin' 'em on sale, makin' folks think they gettin' a bargain when it's really just the same ol' price, or even higher.
They sayin' Woolies did this to at least 266 products between September 2021 and May 2023. That's a whole lotta products, man. And who's gettin' hit the hardest? Us, the folks who gotta stretch every dollar to make ends meet. This ain't cool, Woolies.
Some exec named Paul Harker had to go to court and explain theyself. He claimin' they changed they policies 'cause of inflation. Said the old rules, where products had to stay at one price for, like, nine months before a sale, weren't workin' no more. Nine months tho??
The ACCC sayin' Woolies used to make products stay at a certain price for nine months before they could put 'em on sale. Then they dropped it to six months, then 8-12 weeks. Now they doin' it after just 3-6 weeks. That's shady af, fam. How can you trust a sale when the price be changin' every other week?
Harker tryin' to say this all about managin' suppliers and makin' sure customers get the best deals. But we ain't stupid. We know corporations be lookin' out for they bottom line, first and foremost. This inflation excuse is played out, they've been using that for years now. We getting played like a damn fiddle.
These 'guardrails,' as they call 'em, were supposed to protect consumers from gettin' bamboozled. But Woolies allegedly been bendin' the rules to line they own pockets. This is why we can't trust the system, man. They always findin' new ways to exploit us.
The ACCC is focusin' on them 266 products, sayin' Woolies deliberately made 'em look cheaper by usin' that short window. But real talk, ain't all sales kinda like that? They pump up the price so they can mark it down and make you think you winnin'.
This whole situation just shows how corporations be tryin' to finesse us every chance they get. They don't care about the community, they just care about the money. That's why we gotta stay woke and do our research before we buy anything.
