Wild Shootout in Maine Leaves Four Dead in a House and Commuters Catching Strays on the Highway
Joseph Eaton locked up after a crazy morning rampage that turned quiet Maine streets and I-295 into a warzone.

Man, you think you've seen it all, and then some wild stuff like this happens up in Maine of all places. On Tuesday, this quiet state got rocked hard when police found four people dead inside a house in Bowdoin, and then some shooter started blasting at random cars on Interstate 295 down in Yarmouth. They ended up bagging a 34-year-old dude named Joseph Eaton for it, but the whole situation is just crazy. It shows you that no matter where you live, the streets can turn cold in a heartbeat and you always gotta be ready.
First, let's talk about the house in Bowdoin. Police rolled up in the morning and found four bodies just sitting inside. That's supposed to be your home, your safe haven where you lock the door and leave the drama outside. But instead, it became a crime scene. The cops aren't giving up any details on who the victims were or why this went down, leaving everybody in the neighborhood looking at each other sideways and wondering what really happened behind those closed doors.
But it didn't even stop there. This dude hopped on the highway and took the madness to I-295. He started letting off shots at random people just driving their cars, trying to get to work or handle their business. Three people got hit, and one of them is in the hospital fighting for their life in critical condition. That is straight-up coward behavior, shooting at innocent drivers who have absolutely nothing to do with whatever beef you've got going on.
The state police lieutenant, Randall Keaten, had to get on the news and tell people to check their cars for bullet holes. Real talk, that is wild. Imagine walking out to your ride in the morning and having to inspect it for gunshots like you're looking for a scratch from a shopping cart. If the cops are asking the public to report bullet holes in their cars, you know the situation was completely out of control and they're scrambling.
Governor Janet Mills came out with the usual political PR, saying she was "shocked and deeply saddened" and that the violence "shakes our state and our communities to the core." Look, we hear those same lines every single time something like this pops off. Regular people in the community know that these politicians' words don't do nothing to heal the trauma or bring back the people who were lost. It's just noise while the streets are left to deal with the pain.
They got Eaton locked up over at Two Bridges Regional Jail right now, and they're supposed to bring him to court later this week. As of Tuesday night, they hadn't even officially charged him for the highway shootings yet, just the house murders, even though they know it's all connected. The system takes its sweet time with the paperwork, but everybody on the street already knows what it is and who they're holding responsible.
