UK Say Iran Can't Tax da Waterways? Y'all Know How Dis Go...
Yvette Cooper talkin' 'bout international law while the game stay the same for the lil man.

Aight, so check it. Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper out here trippin' on Iran, sayin' they can't just start chargin' folks to ship through the Strait of Hormuz. Word is, Keir Starmer still out in the Gulf, probly politickin'.
Cooper sayin' it's all about "international law" and how this the "international law of the sea." She hit us wit', "The starting point here is this is an international transit route. It’s international shipping that uses this. This is part of the international law of the sea. This is a a route between the high seas; it is a trading route."
Basically, she sayin' it's a free lane, and Iran can't put no toll booth up like they runnin' things. Sounds familiar, right? Same old song and dance.
She try to compare it to Dover and Gibraltar, sayin' even tho' they got territorial waters, they still gotta let the big ships slide. "And whether you talk about Dover or Gibraltar or other straits around the world, there may be territorial waters there, but there’s also an international shipping route and an international transit route, which means that freedom of navigation principles apply and that countries cannot simply hijack those kinds of international transit routes and unilaterally apply tolls. They cannot do that as part of the laws of the sea and the United Nations conventions."
But real talk, this ain't about no laws. It's about who got the power. Iran playin' chess, seein' if they can flex on the world stage. They probably just testing the waters, tryna see what they can get away wit'. Ain't nothin' new under the sun.
And let's keep it 100, this whole situation ain't helpin' us out here on the block. When these countries start beefin', prices go up, and we the ones feelin' it. Gas prices, food prices – everything goes up. So while they politickin', we strugglin'.
They always talkin' 'bout "international security" and "freedom of navigation," but what about the freedom to eat? The freedom to live without stressin' about how to pay the bills? That's what we need to be talkin' about.
So next time you hear somethin' like this, remember it ain't just some story on the news. It affectin' your pockets, your family, and your future. Stay woke, y'all.
