They Still Tryna Suppress the Vote: Gerrymandering and the New Jim Crow
The system ain't changed, they just got slicker with it, using maps to cut up Black neighborhoods and silence our voices.

Man, they ain't never gonna let us be. Just when you think we makin' progress, they come up with some new way to hold us down. Now it's gerrymandering – drawin' these crazy-ass district lines to split up Black neighborhoods and make sure our votes don't count. It's the new Jim Crow, straight up.
That Voting Rights Act was supposed to fix all this, right? But the Supreme Court been gutting it, piece by piece. Shelby County v. Holder was the first blow, and now this Louisiana v. Callais ruling? Straight trash. They using cherry-picked data to justify why they gotta dilute Black voters. It's some bullsh*t.
Justice Alito pullin' numbers from the Obama era like that proves they ain't learn nothin'. They tryna act like racism is over, but it's alive and kickin'. They targetin' Democrats, but who they really hurtin'? Black folks. It's always us.
Look at what they did to Memphis. Split up the majority-Black district into three, just to give Republicans more seats. They scared of Black political power, plain and simple. They see what we can do when we organized and they gotta shut it down.
And that Rucho v. Common Cause ruling? That's how they get away with it. The courts sayin' they can't do nothin' about partisan gerrymandering, so these politicians just go wild with the map-drawin'. It's a damn shame.
We need a new Voting Rights Act, one that's strong enough to stop this madness. It gotta ban gerrymandering, protect voter registration, and stop all the voter intimidation. We gotta fight for our right to vote, 'cause nobody else gonna do it for us.
This ain't just about politics, this is about our lives. This is about our kids' futures. If we don't have a voice, we can't change nothin'. We gotta stay woke, stay organized, and keep fightin' for what's right. They can draw all the lines they want, but they can't break our spirit.
Real talk, this system is rigged. From the courts to the politicians, they all workin' together to keep us down. But we ain't goin' nowhere. We gon' keep fightin' until we get the justice we deserve.
