They Playin' Us: Bill Tryna End Tax Breaks for Foreign Workers, But Is It Really 'Bout the Hood?
Politicians talkin' 'bout fair play, but we gotta ask: How dis affect the community, for real?

Aight, listen up, fam. These politicians always got somethin' brewin', and this time it's Rep. Grothman with a bill called the 'OPT Fair Tax Act'. Sounds fancy, but peep the game: it's tryna cut tax breaks for companies that hire foreign students through the OPT program. Supposedly, it's 'cause these companies get a financial boost over hirin' American grads. But is this really gonna help us out here in the streets?
They say these companies ain't payin' Social Security and Medicare taxes for these foreign workers, which gives 'em an edge. Grothman claimin' it ain't fair to American workers, that it's a 'significant financial incentive'. Okay, but what 'bout the incentives for companies to ship jobs overseas? Where the bill for that, huh?
ICE Director Lyons talkin' 'bout 'phantom employees,' like 10,000 of 'em. Students who supposedly workin' but ain't nowhere to be found. Soundin' like a whole lotta fraud goin' on, right? But let's be real, corruption in the system ain't new. They always findin' a way to finesse the game, ain't they?
So, this bill is supposed to level the playin' field, but who really benefits? Will it stop companies from lookin' for cheaper labor wherever they can find it? Or is it just another way to stir up anti-immigrant sentiment and divide us? They divide and conquer, and we fall for it every time. We out here fighting each other, instead of fighting the system that's got us all struggling.
Sen. Cotton tried the same thing in the Senate, but it ain't go nowhere. Maybe this time it'll pass, maybe not. But either way, we gotta stay woke and see the bigger picture. These laws and policies, they affect us directly. They affect our jobs, our communities, our futures. Foreign or domestic, most jobs ain't paying a living wage anyway. They’re all just hustling for scraps from the rich man’s table.
So, before we get caught up in the hype, let's ask ourselves: How does this really affect the hood? Will it create more jobs in our communities? Will it raise wages? Or is it just another smokescreen to distract us from the real issues? We need to be building our own tables, fam. Supporting our own businesses, creating our own opportunities. Can’t let these folks decide our fate.
Real talk: We gotta focus on building our own thing, supporting Black businesses, and creating our own opportunities. We can't keep waiting for handouts from the government or these corporations. We gotta take control of our own destiny and build a better future for ourselves and our communities. We out here trying to level up, and nobody is gonna hand it to us. We gotta take it for ourselves. Period. No cap.
