The Receipts Came In: RFK Jr. Caught in 4K Lyin’ to Congress About His Samoa Trip
Newly leaked emails show the HHS head was playing games with people's lives in Samoa right before a deadly outbreak hit the island.

The feds are finally releasing the emails, and it is looking real messy for HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He stood up in front of the U.S. Senate last year and swore up and down that his 2019 trip to Samoa had absolutely nothing to do with vaccines. He claimed he was just there to party for their independence day and show off some fancy computer system. But the receipts just dropped, and it looks like he got caught in 4K lying under oath to secure his cabinet spot.
These newly released State Department emails, got through a lawsuit with the help of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, show that Kennedy's crew was lying from the jump. Dr. Michael Graven, the tech guy for Kennedy’s group Children’s Health Defense, emailed Samoan officials straight up saying they were coming on a "mission" to dig through their medical records. They wanted to study what happens to kids when they stop getting vaccinated. It wasn't some innocent vacation; they were treating this island like a laboratory.
To understand how dirty this play was, you gotta look at what happened to Samoa first. Back in 2018, the local government messed up bad. Some clinic workers improperly prepared an MMR vaccine, mixing it with the wrong stuff, and tragically killed two babies. The parents panicked, and the government completely shut down all vaccines for ten months. Because of that government screw-up, vaccination rates went through the floor. Nobody was getting immunized.
Instead of trying to help these people get safe medicine, Kennedy’s group saw a perfect opportunity. RFK Jr. has been begging for years to do a study comparing vaccinated kids to unvaccinated kids. When Samoa stopped giving shots, his group started sliding into the Samoan government's DMs. They wanted to use these grieving families as test subjects for their anti-vaccine theories. Kennedy rolled up on the island on May 30, 2019, and was shaking hands with Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi on June 1 in Mulinu’u, acting like a savior.
But the streets remember what happened next. A few months after Kennedy left, measles hit Samoa like a freight train. It was a straight-up tragedy—thousands of people got sick, and 83 people died, mostly little kids under five years old. Samoan officials later admitted that Kennedy’s high-profile visit made the local anti-vaccine activists look legit, which scared parents into keeping their kids unvaccinated right when they needed protection the most.
When Congress asked him about it last year, Kennedy tried to act clean. He told the Senate, "You cannot find a single Samoan who will say I didn’t get a vaccine because of Bobby Kennedy." But now that the State Department is dropping these emails, two Democratic senators and a House rep are calling him a straight-up liar. They’re saying the documents prove he lied to the Senate to get his job running the HHS.
It’s the same old story: rich folks from America flying into developing nations, using regular people's tragedies for their own agendas, and then capping about it when the feds start asking questions. They treat the global South like a playground for their science experiments, and when things go south, they jump on a private jet back to Washington and act like they don't know nothing.
Now the feds are dropping these emails in heavily redacted batches, and the pressure is on. People are demanding accountability for the 83 kids who lost their lives while these rich folks were playing games with their medical records. You can try to scrub the emails, but the streets know the truth: the receipts always come to light.
