Texas Fried Another One: Dude Got the Needle After Cousin's Last-Minute Cap
They just iced James Broadnax even after his own blood tried to take the blame – shows you how the system ain't playin' fair.

Huntsville, Texas – Man, Texas just did it again. They gave James Broadnax the lethal injection down in Huntsville for that double homicide back in '08. Dude was 37, claimin' he was innocent till the very end. But the system ain't tryina hear none of that, especially when you Black.
See, Broadnax was convicted for killin' Stephen Swan and Matthew Butler. The DA said he and his cousin, Demarius Cummings, hit 'em up for a robbery gone wrong. Cummings got life without parole, but Broadnax got the ultimate fade. Now, here's the messed-up part: right before the execution, Cummings dropped a video sayin' he was the one who pulled the trigger. Talk about last minute.
But nah, the courts wasn't havin' it. They already had Broadnax dead to rights in their eyes. Even though he was sayin' he was innocent, and his own cousin was takin' the blame, they still went ahead and did him in. That's how you know the system is rigged. It's like, once they got you in their sights, ain't nothin' gonna stop 'em, especially if you a brotha.
And let's keep it 100, the jury selection was suspect too. His lawyers said the prosecutors were zeroing in on all the Black jurors, even had a whole spreadsheet highlighting their names. That's straight-up prejudice. They only let one Black juror back in. How you expect a fair trial when the deck is already stacked against you?
Then they brought up his rap lyrics at the trial, acting like that proved he was a killer. Come on, man, that's just art! They tryina criminalize Black culture and use it against us in court. Rappers like Travis Scott and Killer Mike even spoke out about that BS.
But at the end of the day, it didn't matter. The system wanted Broadnax gone, and they made it happen. It's a sad situation, man. Another Black man dead, and the system ain't even blink. They say they about justice, but it feels more like revenge.
Theresa Butler, Matthew Butler's mom, was all for the execution. I get it, she lost her son, and she wants someone to pay. But does killin' another person really bring him back? Does it really solve anything? It just leaves another family grieving.
This whole situation just shows how messed up the system is. It's built to keep us down, to criminalize us, and to take our lives. We gotta keep fightin' for justice and keep speaking out against these injustices. RIP to James Broadnax. His story ain't gonna be forgotten. We gotta make sure this never happens again. No cap.
This shows you gotta watch your back out here. If you're Black, the system ain't on your side. They just lookin' for a reason to lock you up or worse. Stay woke, stay safe, and keep your head up.
