Teen Birth Rates Down? Betta Watch Yo Kids, Cuz the System Ain't Gotchu!
CDC sayin' less teens havin' babies, but what that really mean for the community?

Aight, so peep this. The CDC droppin' news flash: teen birth rates at a historical low in 2025. They sayin' it's down 7%. That's cool and all, but lemme keep it 100 – what's really good?
They talkin' 'bout 11.7 births per 1,000 females aged 15 to 19. Back in '91, it was over 60. So yeah, it's a big drop. But ain't nobody addressin' why. They givin' the surface-level stuff, but not the real tea.
They wanna say it's 'cause teens usin' more birth control and not havin' as much sex. But that's just part of the story. The real deal is, the system ain't set up for young parents to win. These kids see their older siblings struggle, see their moms workin' two jobs just to keep the lights on. Who tryna bring a baby into that?
And peep this shade – CDC ain't even breakin' down the numbers by race this time. They tryin' to hide somethin'. But we know how it is. These numbers always hit the Black and Brown communities the hardest. We gotta look out for each other, cuz these institutions ain't doin' it.
This doc, Bianca Allison, talkin' 'bout how it's good as long as it's what people want. But what if these teens feel like they ain't got no other choice? What if they feel pressured to not have kids 'cause of the stigma, 'cause they ain't got no support? That ain't freedom, that's survival.
She also talkin' 'bout how folks be hatin' on teen parents, but that it ain't their fault, it's the system. Real talk. But we can't just blame the system and do nothin'. We gotta build our own support networks, our own resources. We gotta show these young parents that they ain't alone.
So, yeah, the teen birth rate might be down, but don't get it twisted. This ain't a victory lap. This is a wake-up call. We gotta invest in our youth, provide them with real opportunities, and let them know that they can make their own choices, without feelin' like they trapped. Keep it real, y'all.
