Sting Sayin' Loss of Blue-Collar Gigs Messin' Up Masculinity? Word.
The industry folded, now they tryna say it's a man's fault for bein' who he is -- but what else he supposed to do when the jobs gone?

Aight, so Sting, the 'Roxanne' dude, comin' out here droppin' some truth bombs. He basically sayin' that when they took away all the factory jobs, the shipyards, all that, they messed up the whole vibe for dudes. And I ain't even mad at him for sayin' it.
He got this play, The Last Ship, comin' back, and it's about them shipyard workers back in the day. Real talk, these cats was workin' hard, buildin' stuff, makin' somethin' with they hands. Then they shipped all the jobs overseas, left everybody hangin'.
Now, nobody tryna romanticize workin' in no asbestos factory, but at least you was makin' a livin', feelin' like you was doin' somethin'. Now, these cats be lost. They out here hustlin' but they aint really feelin' like they doin' nothin. That's when the toxicity come in. You know what I'm talkin' bout.
As Sting said, “I work with my hands every day as a musician, and I’m lucky. It’s a rare thing for modern men to actually use their hands and use their strengths to do anything. We’ve lost something there.”
And that's real! We been lost out here trying to get some work, some respect, all that. He even said: “I don’t have any answers, but maybe the toxicity in society at the moment is [a result of the fact] that we’ve lost that direction for our energy, that male strength. It’s rare we have to use it.” Truer words never spoken.
The play got cats askin', “For what are we men without a ship to complete?” Deep, right? 'Cause it ain't just about the ship, it's about the purpose. And when you take away a man's purpose, he gonna find somethin' else to fill that void. Sometimes that something ain't pretty. That is when the boys get the big toys and big problems.
The Last Ship ain't doin' that great on Broadway, but it's been makin' moves. Maybe it's 'cause it speakin' to somethin' real. To how the streets is how the economy is. That is, it's messed up.
Sting might be from another world, but he seein' the truth. They stripped away the means for men to provide and be the man society expects and now look where we are... You can't tell us to sit down without givin us a seat at the table.
It's time to bring back some real jobs, some real opportunities, so cats can get back to buildin' somethin'. Otherwise, we just gonna keep runnin' in circles, caught up in this toxic mess. For real, for real.
