Steel Mill Messin' Up the Hood: Plant Upgrade Mean More Problems for Middletown Fam
Cleveland-Cliffs droppin' bread on that furnace, but the real cost is the health of folks breathin' that dirty air.

Aight, so check it. Cleveland-Cliffs, they 'bout to drop serious cash to fix up that blast furnace at the steel mill in Middletown. Sounds good, right? Jobs and all that. But hold up, ain't nothin' free. This ain't 'bout to benefit the community, it's gon' benefit them pockets, straight up.
This the same plant JD Vance's grandaddy worked at, and he all for keepin' that coal burnin'. Said clean energy a scam. Meanwhile, lil' shawties like Vivian Adams' daughter coughin' up a lung 'cause of the air. Asthma gettin' worse, inhaler on deck 24/7. Real talk, that ain't right.
They cancelled that $500 million for the hydrogen thing that woulda cleaned up the air. Now they pumpin' money into keepin' that dirty furnace runnin'. CEO talkin' 'bout “beautiful coal, beautiful coke” like he smokin' somethin'. That ish ain't beautiful when it's messin' with folks' lungs and puttin' soot on they kids' toys. No cap.
They sayin' it's gon' keep the plant runnin' for 15-18 more years. That mean 15-18 more years of black gunk all over everything. 15-18 more years of folks gettin' sick. That's a long time to be breathin' that mess. Where the justice at?
Biden talkin' 'bout cleanin' up the steel industry, but this move ain't helpin' none. They asked Cleveland-Cliffs and the Department of Energy if they re-routin' that bread from the hydrogen thing, but they ain't say nothin'. Shady. Always the same games, profit over people.
The Ohio EPA supposed to be watchin' out for the community, but they let this happen. They got them permits on the website, but that ain't doin' nothin' for the air folks breathin'.
This ain't just 'bout some steel mill. It's 'bout how they treatin' folks in the hood. Always puttin' us last. Always choosin' money over our health. It's time we demand better, dawg. Time to hold these corporations accountable for the ish they puttin' in our air and in our bodies. Period.
This is why we gotta stay woke and keep fightin' for what's right. It ain't gon' be easy, but we gotta do it for the next generation. No more coughin' kids, no more black soot. Clean air is a right, not a privilege. Word.
