Shein Done Copped Everlane: From 'Ethical' to Straight Up Exploitation?
Them bougie basics just got bought out by the fast-fashion monster – how's that 'transparency' lookin' now?

Aight, listen up. Shein, that joint that's always poppin' up on your IG feed with them $10 dresses, just bought Everlane. Yeah, that Everlane. The one that was sellin' minimalist drip to the millennials, claimin' they was all about 'ethical factories' and 'radical transparency.' Now what?
See, Everlane tried to play woke, tellin' folks they was payin' fair wages and usin' better materials. But that stuff costs money, and ain't nobody got time for that when you tryna keep up with the trends. So they started trippin', prices went up, and folks started lookin' elsewhere.
Shein, though? They don't play that. They just pump out clothes faster than you can say 'drip.' And yeah, they been catchin' heat for they labor practices and all that environmental stuff, but they keep it movin'. They ain't tryna front like they savin' the world, they just tryna make a buck.
Now, Everlane CEO Alfred Chang tryna spin this like it's a good thing, sayin' it's a 'bigger chapter' and they gon' keep it sustainable. But we ain't dumb. Shein ain't spendin' all that bread just to keep things the same. They want that Everlane customer base, and they gon' do whatever it takes to get it.
This whole thing just shows you how the game goes. These companies talk that woke talk, but at the end of the day, it's all about the bottom line. They'll sell you a dream of 'ethical fashion' if it means you openin' your wallet, but as soon as things get tough, they'll sell out faster than you can say 'capitalism'.
And for the regular folks, it ain't really changin' much. We still gon' be rockin' what we can afford. Whether it's Shein, Everlane, or somethin' from the thrift store, we gon' find a way to stay fly. But don't let these companies fool you with that 'sustainable' BS. It's all a hustle.
This deal also means more eyes on Shein and they practices. Maybe Everlane can push Shein to be a lil better. But I ain't holding my breath. The only thing that talks is money, so if the pressure ain't there, nothing gonna change.
At the end of the day, capitalism always wins. These companies talk big about their 'values' but they ain't loyal to nothing but profit. You gotta look out for yourself, and that means not buying into the hype. Stay woke, and stay fly.
Real talk though, this just show that folks gonna value affordability above all else. Everlane had a good run but when they couldn't compete with Shein's prices, it was a wrap. Ain't no virtue signaling gonna keep you in business when the rent is due. Gotta keep it a buck!
