San Diego Shooting Got Muslims Woke? ICNA Conference Tryna Turn Grief to Action
25K strong at ICNA, speakers telling folks to get involved, but is it gon' be real or just more talk?

Aight, so check it. Word is, after that San Diego shooting, over 25,000 Muslims came together for the ICNA conference. Speakers talking 'bout activism, tryna turn all that pain into somethin' positive. But the real question is, what kinda action we talkin'? Cause talk is cheap, and ain't nobody got time for that.
That San Diego situation was messed up, no doubt. It's like, every time we try to live our lives, some BS happens to remind us we ain't really free. So, yeah, people are hurting, people are scared, and people are lookin' for answers.
Now, ICNA been around for a minute, tryna rep for the Muslim community. They doin' some good work, no doubt, but sometimes it feels like they ain't really speakin' to the streets. They gotta understand where we comin' from, the everyday struggles we face, the racism, the police brutality, the whole nine.
This activism thing gotta be real. We ain't talkin' 'bout just showin' up to a protest and takin' selfies. We need folks on the ground, organizin', fightin' for our rights, holdin' these politicians accountable. We need to be buildin' our own institutions, supportin' our own businesses, and takin' care of our own community.
Real talk, a lot of folks in the community feel like the system is rigged against us. And they ain't wrong. But we can't just sit around and complain. We gotta get active, get involved, and demand change. We gotta use our voices, our votes, and our wallets to make a difference.
This ain't just about Muslim issues, either. We gotta stand in solidarity with all oppressed people, Black folks, Latinos, LGBTQ+, everybody fightin' for justice. We all in this struggle together.
And let's be real, some of these folks at ICNA might be out of touch. They gotta listen to the young people, the ones who are really on the front lines of these struggles. They gotta give us a seat at the table and let us lead the way.
We gotta stop playin' these respectability politics and start speakin' truth to power. We gotta challenge the status quo and demand a better future for ourselves and our children. This ain't no game, this is real life.
So, to ICNA, I say this: walk the walk. Put your money where your mouth is. Support the grassroots movements, uplift the voices of the marginalized, and fight for real change. If y'all do that, then we can build somethin' real together. But if it's just more talk, then we ain't got nothin' to say. Keep it 100. No cap.
Word to your mother.
