Aight, so peep this: Rubio was out in India tryna explain why Trump's 'America First' immigration rules is the way they are. He sayin' it ain't 'bout targetin' India, but c'mon, we know how it is. When they change the game, it hits everybody different, ya feel me?

Rubio talkin' 'bout "modernization" but folks back home callin' it some straight-up discriminatory mess. He tryina say it's 'bout what's good for America, but what 'bout the folks who been comin' here, buildin' businesses, payin' taxes, all that? Ain't they part of America too?

“What I want to leave clear is that the changes, while they may be having a disproportionate impact on a place like India that provides so many high-skilled workers to the U.S. economy, it is not a system that is targeted at India,” Rubio said. Word? Then why it feel like it is, tho?

India's Foreign Minister Jaishankar, he ain't havin' it. He callin' out the fact that folks tryna come here legal gettin' the runaround with these visas. He sayin' it messin' up business, tech, all that collab stuff. And he ain't lyin'.

“I apprised Secretary Rubio of challenges that legitimate travelers face in respect of visa issuance,” Jaishankar said. “While we cooperate to deal with illegal and irregular mobility, our expectation is that legal mobility would not be adversely impacted as a consequence. After all, this is very relevant to our business, technology , and research cooperation.” Real talk.

But Rubio stayin' on that 'America First' tip. He sayin' every country gotta look out for itself, immigration included. But it's like, at what cost? We cuttin' off our nose to spite our face, actin' like we don't need nobody else's skills or talents. That's some short-sighted ish right there.

He mentioned how a million folks get permanent residency every year. That's cool, but what 'bout the ones who gettin' blocked? What 'bout the ones who play by the rules but still can't catch a break? The system still rigged, and it ain't lookin' out for everybody.

Then he start talkin' 'bout 20 million folks comin' here illegally. That's a whole 'nother conversation. That's 'bout poverty, desperation, and folks chasin' a better life. But lumpin' that in with the legal immigration stuff? Nah, that's a low blow.

“We are in a period of modernization, and I’ll be frank and honest with you, because it’s important to talk about this: We’ve had a migratory crisis in the United States,” Rubio said. “This is not because of India, but broadly, we had over 20 million people illegally enter the United States over the last few years, and we’ve had to address that challenge.”

Bottom line: This 'America First' stuff sound good on paper, but it's messin' with real people's lives. It's makin' it harder for folks to come here legal, and it's buildin' up walls instead of bridges. We gotta do better, y'all. This ain't the way.
