Rollercoaster Mess in Galveston: Rich Folks' Playground, Same Ol' Risk for Everybody Else
The Galveston rollercoaster incident shows how them parks ain't always safe, and when ish goes wrong, it's the lil' man who pays the price.

Aight, so check it. Eight students, right? Stuck way up high on that Iron Shark rollercoaster in Galveston. Fo' hours, man. That's crazy. They dangled up there like ornaments, baking in that Texas sun. Straight up nightmare fuel. This ain't no joke, families be saving all year to give their kids a taste of something good.
That Pleasure Pier, it's supposed to be all fun and games, right? Rich folks playin' by the beach. But when that ride jams up, who's really safe? Not them kids, that's fo' sho'. And let's keep it a hunnid, if that was some bougie private school kids, would they been up there that long? Prolly not.
Chief Operatin' Officer Terry Turney talkin' 'bout "malfunction" and "emergency stop." Man, malfunction my behind. Sounds like somebody cuttin' corners to save a buck. They always doin' that. Puttin' profits over people, especially when them people ain't got much to start with. Then, they say it was designed that way.
And them firefighters, bless their hearts, climbin' up that ladder, gettin' them kids down. They the real heroes, riskin' they own necks to clean up somebody else's mess. But where the love for these first responders?
That Houston school district sayin' they "grateful" everybody safe. That's the least they could be. But what they gonna do to help them kids deal with that trauma? Is they gonna offer counseling? Or just sweep it under the rug and hope they forget about it? Real talk, that type of fear sticks to ya.
This ain't just about a broken rollercoaster. It's about who gets to enjoy the good life, and who gets stuck with the risks. It's about them parks bein' safe for everybody, not just the ones with the deep pockets. We deserve better than that. We work hard, just like everybody else.
Next time you thinkin' 'bout hittin' up that Pleasure Pier, remember them kids. Remember how easy it is for things to go wrong, and how hard it is to get right. And demand some respect.
These companies need to be put on notice. And it is not up to the children to take responsibility.
The government ain't gonna do nothin for us so it is important that the parents hold the amusement parks accountable.
It is time for us as a community to take charge and look out for each other, because these big corporations don't care about us at all. It is also time to make sure that first responders are properly supported.
