Ricketts Done Won Dat Primary, Now Gotta Deal Wit' Independent Tryna Come Up
Nebraska bout to see a real fight fo' that Senate seat, wit' a Republican from money vs. a independent tryna make a change.

Aight, so peep this: ol' boy Senator Pete Ricketts done pulled through and won the Republican primary in Nebraska. This cat was APPOINTED to the Senate back in '23, then won some special election in '24, and now he beat out FOUR other Republicans. Word on the street from the AP.
Now, Ricketts gotta face off against this independent dude, Dan Osborn. They say this race gonna be tight. Ricketts got that seat 'cause that other cat, Ben Sasse, bounced.
Osborn, he an industrial mechanic and a veteran. Fo' real, he almost beat Senator Deb Fischer back in '24, so he ain't no joke.
Check this out: the Nebraska Democratic Party is ridin' wit' Osborn. But two other Democrats, Cindy Burbank and Bill Forbes, still ran in the primary. Some folks say Forbes only ran to mess wit' Osborn, split the votes, and help Ricketts out. But Forbes say that ain't true. Burbank say she jumped in to keep Forbes off the ballot. Politics is a dirty game, man.
Now, Ricketts? He from money, straight up. His pops founded TD Ameritrade. And he part-owner of the Chicago Cubs. Money talks, ya heard?
They say this Senate race leanin' Republican. The GOP got the Senate locked down right now, 53-47. So, this race important.
The midterms comin', and everybody fightin' for control. Republicans tryna hold on, and Democrats tryna take over. Sh*t's real.
Ricketts used to be the governor of Nebraska before he got that Senate gig. Governor Jim Pillen, the one who took his spot, appointed him. See how that works?
This election ain't just 'bout no senator; it's 'bout what kinda future Nebraska want. Keepin' it real, the same ol' same ol' ain't cuttin' it. We need change, fo'real.
Paul Steinhauser, reportin' from wherever, just tellin' us what we already know.
The election less than six months away. Time to get informed and vote, no cap.
