Renewables Comin' Up: But Who Really Gon' Benefit?
IRENA sayin' wind and solar cheap now, but we gotta make sure the hood get a piece of the pie, ya heard?
Aight, so IRENA droppin' this report sayin' renewable energy like wind and solar gettin' cheaper than fossil fuels. They sayin' we can power sh*t wit' the sun and the wind now, for real. But hold up, before we start celebratin', let's keep it 100.
We seen this movie before. They always talkin' 'bout progress, but who really benefitin'? Is it gonna be the same corporations gettin' fat off our backs, or is the hood gonna get a piece of this action?
For real, these energy companies been pollutin' our communities for decades. Asthma rates sky high, cancer cases goin' up. Now they wanna switch to "clean" energy? Aight, but they gotta pay reparations for the damage they done.
They talkin' 'bout jobs in the renewable energy sector. That's cool, but we need real jobs, wit' good pay and benefits. We ain't tryna be sweatin' in the sun all day for minimum wage, ya feel me?
We need ownership, too. We need Black and Brown folks ownin' these solar companies, wind farms, and battery factories. We need to build wealth in our communities, not just be workin' for the man.
And don't even get me started on the government. They always talkin' 'bout helpin' the environment, but they always bailin' out these big corporations. They need to put that money into our communities, invest in renewable energy projects that benefit us directly.
We gotta make sure this transition to renewable energy is a real opportunity for the hood, not just another way for the rich to get richer. We gotta stay woke and demand our share.
Remember Flint, Michigan? They still ain't got clean water. So, excuse me if I don't trust these politicians and corporations to do the right thing. We gotta hold them accountable.
We gotta organize, mobilize, and demand justice. We gotta make sure our voices are heard. We ain't gonna let them leave us behind this time.
Real talk, this ain't just about clean energy, it's about economic power, social justice, and environmental equity. We gotta fight for our future, and the future of our kids.
Word to the motherland, we gotta stand up and claim what's ours. No more crumbs, we want the whole damn cake. Renewable energy is a chance for us to build a better future, but only if we fight for it. Stay woke, fam.
It's time for the streets to get that green too, or it's the same ol' story, different verse.
