Real Talk: This Bike Company Tryna Get Tariffs On China?
Guardian Bikes want Trump to tax them foreign bikes so they can make more money off the folks.
Aight, peep this. This dude Brian Riley, he runnin' Guardian Bike Company out in Indiana. He tryna get Trump to put tariffs on bikes from China. Said he wanna bring manufacturing back to the States, but is this really for the people or just for his pockets?
So, his grandaddy had a bike wreck, right? That’s what made him wanna invent the SureStop brake, which is supposed to be safer. But when he went to sell it, all the bike companies was overseas. So he decided to build his own spot right here in the U.S.A.
I feel that hustle, but let's keep it 100. He talkin' 'bout 'Made in America' like it's all good, but who really benefitin'? Them tariffs gonna make bikes more expensive for the everyday folks, especially folks in the hood who need affordable transportation.
He got his factory in Seymour, Indiana, a small town where they still doin' manufacturing. He talkin' 'bout creatin' jobs, but how many of them jobs really pay a livable wage? And how many of them folks gonna be able to afford his bikes anyway?
Trump always talkin' 'bout bringin' back jobs, but it's always at the expense of somebody else. These tariffs ain't gonna hurt China, they gonna hurt us. We gonna be payin' more for everything, while these corporations keep gettin' richer.
And let's be real, this ain't about patriotism, it's about profit. He tryna eliminate the competition so he can control the market. Same game, different players. They always findin' ways to squeeze us dry.
I ain't mad at the hustle, but don't try to sell it to me like it's for the community. This is about money, plain and simple. And we gotta be smart about how we spend our bread, 'cause ain't nobody lookin' out for us but us.
We gotta start supportin' Black-owned businesses and buildin' our own economic power. We can't rely on these corporations or the government to take care of us. We gotta take care of ourselves. This is real talk.
So next time you see them Guardian Bikes, remember where that money goin'. And think about supportin' businesses in your own community that are really lookin' out for the people. Keep it 100, y'all.
