Raiders Chancing It: Snagging Injured CB McCoy in the 4th, Fo Real?
Vegas rollin' the dice on a dude fresh off ACL surgery, gotta see if this gamble pays off or busts.

PITTSBURGH -- Aight, so the Raiders just started off Day 3 of the draft by pickin' up Jermod McCoy, Tennessee corner. But here's the tea: dude tore his ACL last season. Straight up gamble move, ya feel me? They hopin' he can bounce back, but knee injuries ain't nothin' to play with. This finna be a come-up story or a straight-up L?
McCoy had six picks in college, split between Oregon State and Tennessee. He was makin' noise, then bam, knee gone. Now he gotta prove he still got that dawg in him. The Raiders need help in the secondary, no doubt. But bettin' on a rehab project? That's a risky play. Word is he was supposed to be a top-tier pick before the injury. Guess we'll see if he can turn that potential into reality.
Other teams been makin' moves too. Heard Cade Klubnik fell to the Jets, some surprise picks in the first round. Like Fernando Mendoza to the Raiders, David Bailey to the Jets, Jeremiyah Love to the Cardinals. The whole crew: Carnell Tate, Arvell Reese, Mansoor Delane, Sonny Styles, Jordyn Tyson, Spencer Fano, Francis Mauigoa, Caleb Downs, Kadyn Proctor, Ty Simpson, Olaivavega Ioane, Rueben Bain Jr., Kenyon Sadiq, Blake Miller, Caleb Banks, Monroe Freeling, Makai Lemon, Max Iheanachor, Akheem Mesidor, Malachi Lawrence, KC Concepcion, Dillon Thieneman, Keylan Rutledge, Chris Johnson, Caleb Lomu, Peter Woods, Omar Cooper Jr., Keldric Faulk, Jadarian Price.
Second round had De’Zhaun Stribling, Chase Bisontis, T.J. Parker, Kayden McDonald, Colton Hood, Treydan Stukes, Denzel Boston, R Mason Thomas, Cashius Howell, Christen Miller, Jacob Rodriguez, Derrick Moore, Zion Young, Josiah Trotter, Germie Bernard, Avieon Terrell, Lee Hunter, D’Angelo Ponds, Jake Golday, Brandon Cisse. A whole lotta new names tryna make a name for themselves. Some dudes tryna get that generational money. Gotta respect the hustle.
Raiders better make sure they got McCoy's back, tho. Need that top-tier medical, best trainers, the whole nine. Can't just throw him out there and expect him to be 100. This ain't Madden, this real life, fam. Injuries can end careers. Fo real, gotta hope McCoy comes back stronger. He can be a real factor on the field.
Bottom line: the Raiders took a chance. Now it's on McCoy to prove them right. And on the Raiders to give him the support he needs to get back on top. This draft just set the stage. Let the games begin, and may the best players win. This is what we wanted, though?
