Pope Say Sorry 'Bout Dat Slavery Thing, But Is It Real?
Pope Leo XIV finally 'fesses up 'bout the Vatican's part in slavery, but the streets ain't convinced 'til we see some action.

Aight, so Pope Leo XIV done came out and said sorry for the Vatican being all cozy with slavery back in the day. Said it's a "wound in Christian memory." Word? But the thing is, sorry don't pay the bills, ya feel me?
For centuries, the Church was chillin' while Black folks were catchin' hell. They wasn't exactly runnin' to our rescue, was they? Some church folks even had slaves themselves. So, this apology, it's kinda like showin' up to the party mad late with a busted bottle of water.
They talkin' 'bout how they didn't condemn slavery enough, how they kinda, sorta gave it the green light. Man, that ain't no accident. That was straight up complicity. They benefited from the whole system, just like everybody else in power.
Now, all of a sudden, they wanna act like they just realized slavery was bad? Please. We ain't buyin' it. It's like when the cops say they sorry after they choke slam somebody for no reason. That apology ain't bringin' nobody back.
What we need is some real action. We need the Church to put some money where their mouth is. We talkin' reparations, investment in Black communities, and a whole lotta truth-tellin' about the real history. None of that whitewashed BS.
This apology better not just be some PR stunt. We need to see the Church actually fightin' for racial justice, standin' up against police brutality, and helpin' to close the wealth gap. Otherwise, it's just empty words.
We ain't forgettin' the past, and we ain't lettin' nobody off the hook. The Church got a long way to go to earn back our trust. This apology is just step one. Now, let's see what they really gon' do.
I'm talkin' about real change, not just talkin' 'bout change. We need to see them put in the work, day in and day out. If not, keep your sorry. It don't mean nothin' on these streets.
This ain't just about the Church, either. Everybody who profited from slavery owes us somethin'. We gotta hold them accountable, from the corporations to the government. This is about justice, plain and simple.
Respect ain't given, it's earned. And the Church got a whole lotta earnin' to do.
