Pope Leo Sayin' Peace, But the Streets Still Bleedin'
That Easter sermon ain't gonna stop no bullets when the system keep pushin' us down, feel me?
Aight, so Pope Leo out here droppin' words 'bout peace, right? Sayin' folks indifferent to the violence. Man, tell me somethin' I don't know. This ain't new to us. Been seein' this mess our whole lives. He preachin' after that Palm Sunday thing, sayin' God ain't hearin' prayers from them war-mongers. But them same cats got the power, the money, and the guns. What a sermon gonna do?
This ain't about religion, it's about reality. The world ain't indifferent, it's built on this mess. War make money. Violence keep us scared and divided. The Pope talkin', but is he really speakin' to the people gettin' hit the hardest? The ones losin' they brothers, sisters, cousins, every damn day? Nah, he talkin' to the folks with the power to stop it, but they ain't listenin'.
He talkin' 'bout indifference, but the system indifferent to us. Put us in these messed up neighborhoods, take away resources, then act surprised when we fightin' each other. They profitin' off the struggle, while we dyin' in the streets. And tell us to pray, we do, but ain't nuthin change. That indifference from the system and folks in power is as real as it gets.
He's sitting up there in the Vatican, surrounded by gold and history, tellin' us about peace. Where's the peace in my neighborhood? Where's the peace when I gotta worry about my kids walkin' to school? Where's the peace when police harassin' us for just livin'? This ain't about a sermon, it's about action. It's about changin' the game and tearin' down the whole system. We need real change, not just words.
We need jobs, education, healthcare and stop the war on drugs. And no gentrification so we can stay and build in our community. He can say what he say, but real peace come from us. From the hood. From us standin' together and fightin' for what's right. Until then, this just sound like empty words. No cap.
So, Pope Leo can preach all he want, but we gotta stay woke. We gotta keep our eyes open and our fists up. Real peace ain't comin' from the Vatican, it's comin' from the streets. It's comin' from us. Gotta get that bag, stay out of jail and take care of yo family.
