Penn Station Gettin' a Glow-Up? Bet They Gon' Price Us Out, Tho
Amtrak sayin' they fixin' up Penn Station, but what dat mean for the community, fam?
Aight, so word on the street is they 'bout to revamp Penn Station. Natural light, high ceilings, allat. Sounds boujee, right? But lemme tell you somethin', ain't nothin' free in this world.
We all know Penn Station is a mess. Look like a damn dungeon in there. But they ain't fixin' it for us. They fixin' it for the folks comin' in from the suburbs, the tourists, the ones with the bread. Bet.
When they start talkin' 'bout redevelopment, that's code for gentrification. Next thing you know, rent gon' be sky high, small businesses gettin' pushed out, and we gettin' replaced by some hipster coffee shops. Seen it happen too many times, man.
And where's the bread comin' from? Taxpayers, that's who. While they throwin' money at this fancy train station, schools still need funding, hospitals still understaffed, and folks still struggling to make ends meet. Priorities is messed up, I'm sayin'.
They gon' say it's for the "greater good," but the greater good ain't never included us. We just gotta watch our backs and make sure we don't get left behind in this so-called progress.
This ain't about makin' the trains run on time, it's about lookin' good for the 'gram. They wanna impress the tourists and the big shots, not make life easier for the everyday man and woman grindin' to get to work.
So yeah, Penn Station might get a facelift, but don't be fooled. This ain't for us. It's for them. We gotta stay woke and fight for our place in this city. Can't let 'em push us out, nah mean?
Real talk, they need to put some money back in the community, create some jobs, and make sure people got a place to live. Stop playin' us for fools, man.
Watch when the price of a MetroCard jump up again 'cause they say they need to pay for the renovation. Bet they finna do that.
They talkin' 'bout "natural light." We need natural opportunity. That's what's real.
At the end of the day, gotta hustle. Gotta stay on your grind. Can't rely on nobody to do nothin' for us. Keep stackin' that paper, y'all.
