NYT Poll Say Dems Got Some 'Common Ground' - But Is It Really For Us?
They talkin' 'bout Democrats findin' unity, but what dat mean for the everyday folks on the block?
Aight, so peep this: The New York Times and Siena dropped a poll sayin' the Democrats got some 'common ground.' Word? Common ground where? On Capitol Hill, sippin' fancy coffee, while rent still sky-high and folks struggle to eat? Nah, fam, I ain't buyin' it 'til I see it.
They always talkin' 'bout unity, but whose unity? It ain't never feel like it's our unity. It's unity for the corporations, unity for the politicians, unity for the folks already eatin' good. What about unity for the single moms workin' two jobs? What about unity for the brothas locked up for minor offenses? What about unity for the people gettin' gentrified outta they neighborhoods?
These politicians, they all talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk. They promise change, but everything stay the same. They say they care about the community, but they only show up when it's time to vote. I'm tired of the empty promises, the fake smiles, and the lies.
This 'common ground' they talkin' 'bout, is it gonna put some money in my pocket? Is it gonna get my cuzzo outta jail? Is it gonna stop the police from harassin' us on the corner? If not, then I ain't interested. I'm tryin' to survive out here, and ain't nobody helpin' us but us.
The Democratic Party, they act like they on our side, but they ain't really. They just use us for our votes. They make us think they fightin' for us, but they really just lookin' out for themselves. They play the game, and we get played.
So, I'm sayin', don't get fooled by this poll. Don't let them trick you into thinkin' things is gonna change. We gotta take matters into our own hands. We gotta organize, mobilize, and demand what we deserve. We gotta build our own power and make sure our voices are heard.
Real talk, ain't no savior comin' to rescue us. We gotta save ourselves. We gotta be the change we wanna see. We gotta uplift each other and fight for our future. This 'common ground' better include reparations, free healthcare, and a real end to systemic racism. Otherwise, it's just more of the same old BS.
They sayin' the poll surveyed a lotta folks, but did they hit up the hood? Did they ask the folks hustlin' on the corner? Did they talk to the mamas struggling to make ends meet? I doubt it. They probably just asked a bunch of bougie liberals livin' in fancy apartments.
In the end, it's on us to hold these politicians accountable. It's on us to demand justice and equality. It's on us to build a better future for our children. Don't let nobody tell you different. Keep your head up, stay strong, and keep fightin' the good fight. Peace.
Remember, 'til they start puttin' respect on our names and actually showin' love, all this 'common ground' talk is just noise. We stayin' woke. We stayin' real.
