NSW Government Messin' Up the Green: Moore Park Golf Course Gettin' Cut for Another Park
They takin' away the links to build another spot for bougie folks and their dogs – ain't nothin' for the real community.

Aight, so check it. The NSW government, they pullin' some slick stuff again. See that Moore Park golf course? They 'bout to chop it down so they can build another park. Word is, they sayin' it's 'cause the inner city needs more green space. But real talk, who this really for?
They sayin' they tryna give folks a backyard, but we already know how this go. This ain't gonna be no spot for the homies to chill, barbecue, and just vibe. Nah, this gonna be another place for the bougie folks to walk their fancy dogs, do yoga, and sip on green juice. Ain't nothin' wrong wit that, but where we fit in at?
Planning Minister Paul Scully, he out here sayin' this gonna be good for everybody. But the only ones winnin' is the rich folks in the high-rises who ain't got no grass to step on. We already got enough concrete, we just need opportunities.
The government sayin' they gon' have pathways and sports fields and all that. Bet money those sports fields is gonna be booked up by private schools and organized leagues that ain't got nothin' to do wit us. This supposed to be for the community, but we barely get a look-in.
Plus, they jackin' up the prices on everything else. More bougie folks move in, rent go up, and ain't nobody can afford to live here no more. Where the love for the real locals, the ones who been holdin' down the neighborhood for years?
And don't even get me started on the golfers. They ain't happy 'bout it either. Man like Mark Wahlberg tryna speak up. Now, I ain't shedin' no tears for the golfers, but you can't just take away they spot and not expect no blowback. They was usin' it, they gettin' displaced too. Everybody gotta deal with the man steppin' on 'em.
The golf course used to bring in money. Now they gonna spend millions on buildin' a park that ain't gonna help nobody but the trust fund babies. It ain't even gonna look real in the rendering, like somethin' outta a cartoon, 'cause it's meant to distract folks from the bigger game.
They sayin' it's gon' have walkways, and places to play sport, and even a dog run. All sounds good, but the question is, who gon' be able to use it without gettin' priced out or looked down on? Need to see our community actually benefit from the green space.
They say the park is gon' open up in July, with big upgrades by 2028. But we know how that go. Promises, promises. By the time it's all done, the neighborhood gonna be unrecognizable, and we gon' be pushed out to the suburbs.
