NSW Coppers 'Bout To Chill on Mental Health Calls? 'Bout Time!
After too many folks catchin' cases or worse, the state finally lookin' at sendin' the right folks to these mental health situations.

Aight, listen up, fam. Word on the street is that NSW Police might be steppin' back from bein' the first ones on the scene for mental health calls. They tryna pull a UK move, sendin' health pros first. About damn time, man. Too many brothers and sisters been gettin' jammed up, or worse, when the cops roll up on a mental health thang. It's been a wrap.
For real, how many times we gotta see somebody buggin' out gettin' handled wrong? Cops ain't social workers, man. They trained to cuff and stuff, not de-escalate a crisis. So now they wanna switch it up and send in folks who actually know how to talk to somebody in distress? Bet.
The police union even speakin' up, sayin' they don't wanna be the 'default response' no more. Kevin Morton basically said the police been acting like Uber for the jail. Too real. They tired of runnin' errands, they wanna focus on catchin' real criminals, word.
Minister Yasmin Catley talkin' 'bout signin' a deal with NSW Health. She acknowledge the struggles, but it ain't enough just to talk. We need action, we need resources in our communities so folks ain't gotta be in crisis in the first place.
The man dem reviewed the way police acting in the streets and admitted that police showing up can make things worse. Fam, we been knew that. A parliamentary investigation even told them to get more training and chill as second responders. They late, but at least they movin'.
We ain't forgettin' Clare Nowland, Steve Pampalian, Jesse Deacon, Krista Kach. Rest up. And Collin Burling. These the folks who died while the cops were supposed to be helpin'. That ain't right. That's why we need change. No cap.
Minns sayin' he gonna say more soon. We waitin', cuz. This ain't just 'bout police reform, it's 'bout investin' in our communities and makin' sure folks get the help they need before they reach the point of no return. It's time for us to stand up, because if we don't, who will?
This new model a start, but it gotta be real. Gotta be for us. Gotta be run by folks who understand the struggle. Gotta be more than just lip service. Keep it 100.
