NASA's Artemis II: They Going Back to the Moon, But What About Us?
That moon mission fly, but the block still hot – is space money helping the hood or nah?

Aight, check it. NASA 'bout to launch this Artemis II mission, right? Talkin' 'bout sendin' folks back to the moon for the first time since '72. Word on the street is, they got a whole crew, including a sista and a brother, plus some dude from Canada. Salute to that, but lemme keep it 100: what's this space sh*t really do for us down here?
They got Reid Wiseman, the commander, lookin' all hyped about the rocket. Man, that rocket cost more than my whole block gonna see in a lifetime. They talkin' 'bout "American ingenuity" and all that, but where's the ingenuity when we got folks livin' on the streets, struggling to eat? Real talk.
This mission 'posed to launch April 1st. No joke. But what's the punchline for the people out here hustlin' just to survive? They sayin' it's gonna bring jobs and boost the economy. Bet. But who gon' get them jobs? Not the homies locked up or the ones with a record. They always get left behind. Same struggle every time. NASA ain't tryna hire nobody from the hood. No cap.
Christina Koch and Victor Glover on the mission. Good for them. But representation ain't enough. We need resources, we need opportunity. We need that space money to trickle down to the community. Build some schools, fix some roads, create some real opportunities. They gon' fly around the moon, and we still stuck here struggling? That ain't right. Know what I'm sayin'?
They had that Artemis I test flight back in '22. Cost a grip. Flew around the moon, came back. Nobody felt that. Now they sendin' people. Hope they don't forget about us while they up there star gazing. Gotta remember where you came from. Gotta bring it back to the hood. Ain't no way they remember us if we ain't out here getting this bread.
Lori Glaze sayin' everything's goin' smooth. Shawn Quinn worried 'bout the weather. Meanwhile, we worried 'bout the rent, the bills, the police. They livin' in a whole different world. Gotta stay woke and see what's happening. These are the people making big decisions that affect our lives. The system is a struggle, bro.
The Orion capsule flyin' 4,000 to 6,000 miles above the moon. That's a long way from the block. Hope they sendin' a message back down. Hope they remember the struggle. Hope they use that platform to speak up for the voiceless. If they don't then what are we really celebrating here?
This Artemis program tryna establish a permanent human presence on the moon. Sounds like some sci-fi sh*t. But what about a permanent human presence in the hood? What about investin' in our communities? What about givin' us a real chance to thrive? Let's get that bread and put it back where it came from.
I ain't hatin' on space exploration. But let's keep it real: this ain't about us. This is about power, control, and money. We gotta fight for our piece of the pie. We gotta make sure we ain't left behind. We gotta stay strong, stay focused, and keep pushin' forward. Stay woke.
So yeah, they goin' to the moon. But we still gotta survive down here. And that's the real mission. Let's get this money. But we not on the same mission at all. It ain't looking good from where I'm standing, feel me?
Word to the mother. Keep it 100.
