Met Gala: Bezos Gettin' Dragged, But What About the Real Cost?
Rich folks play dress up while regular folks struggle, and now they mad at Bezos? Nah, this ain't about no damn fashion.

Aight, so the Met Gala, that bougie party for rich folks, is catchin' heat 'cause Jeff Bezos and his shawty Lauren Sanchez are honorary chairs or somethin'. They throwin' down bread for the Costume Institute, but folks is BIG mad. Like, why we trippin' over Bezos when the whole damn system is rigged against us?
Beyoncé, Venus Williams, Nicole Kidman, and Anna Wintour are runnin' the show too, tickets costin' a hundred Gs. Hundred. Thousand. Dollars. Meanwhile, folks out here can't even afford rent. And they worryin' about what kinda dress they wearin' at this party?
Word on the street is Bezos tryna buy Vogue's mama company, Condé Nast. Last year they said he was gon' cop it for his wedding. He probably just wants to flex, show off his wealth. But who gives a damn if he buys Vogue? It's still gonna be pushin' the same unrealistic beauty standards and sellin' us dreams we can't afford.
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani ain't goin', breakin' tradition. He probably sees the hypocrisy. Everybody Hates Elon, a group from across the pond, puttin' up posters callin' out Bezos. They mad, but it ain't just about Elon, it's about all these billionaires livin' large while the rest of us scrapin' by. The opps are oppin' fr.
The exhibition, called “Costume Art,” is 'bout body types that's usually sidelined in fashion. They talkin' 'bout pregnant women, disabled folks, and even nudity. But how real is it when these same designers ain't makin' clothes for REAL people, with REAL bodies, who can't afford designer clothes anyway? Talkin' bout “bodies marginalised in fashion”. For real? Make clothes for marginalized folks, then. Stop just talkin'.
They got art paired with dresses, like a messed up corset and a sculpture. They got some Venus statue with a dress made out of hair. It all sounds wild, but it ain't doin' nothin' for the hood. It’s just rich folks playin' dress-up and pretendin' to be deep. It's a performance, not real change. For real, it is about time that the real issues got adressed.
Bezos bein' involved ain't the problem. The problem is the whole damn game. The fashion industry exploits workers, promotes unrealistic standards, and thrives on inequality. We need to be holdin' these corporations accountable for their actions, not just pointin' fingers at one dude.
Real talk, the Met Gala is a distraction. It's a shiny object that keeps us from focusin' on the real issues: poverty, inequality, and the fact that the system is rigged against us. Time to stop gettin' caught up in the hype and start demandin' some real change.
