Maine Senate Candidate Graham Platner Talkin' Slick 'Bout the Army – Is He Keepin' It Real or Nah?
Democrat Graham Platner's old Reddit posts callin' out the Army got folks heated, but is he just sayin' what everybody else is thinkin'?

Yo, check it, fam. This Maine Senate race is gettin' wild. This dude Graham Platner, the Democrat runnin', got some old posts resurfaced where he was straight-up clownin' the Army. Like, callin' 'em 'absolute trash' and full of 'fat, lazy trash.' Word? The Washington Free Beacon put it all out there.
Now, I ain't gonna lie, that's kinda harsh. But Platner ain't no stranger to the struggle. He did his time in the Marines and the Army National Guard. Served in Iraq and Afghanistan, too. So, he's seen some things. Maybe he's just speakin' from experience, ya know? But Senator Susan Collins and them other politicians act like he committed some kinda crime.
Then, there's this whole thing with him goin' at this wounded Army vet, Teddy Daniels. Platner said some wild stuff about him not deservin' to live. That's where he messed up, for real. You can't be talkin' like that about folks who put their lives on the line, no matter what branch they in. Platner apologized later. Said it wasn't reflectin' on who he is. But damage already done, feel me?
See, the thing is, everybody got opinions about the different branches. Marines think they the toughest, Army think they the most versatile, and so on. It's just part of the culture. But you gotta know how to talk about it, ya dig? Platner wasn't holdin' back, but he probably shoulda kept some of that to himself.
He also said the Army ain't got that 'warrior ethos' like the Marines. That's debatable, but whatever. Bottom line, this dude's sayin' stuff that other people are probably thinkin', but scared to say out loud. And also that other stuff about slurs and rural Americans. But folks gon' believe what they wanna believe.
Is he keepin' it real? Or is he just tryin' to get attention? I don't know, man. But it's definitely makin' this election way more interesting. Maybe he's just being honest when these other folks out here fake. He owned up to saying dumb stuff and asked to be judged for who he is now. Is that enough? That's on the voters to decide.
Real talk, Platner's just a regular dude who also happened to serve his country. We all make mistakes and do dumb shit.
Don't let no one make you think you should always be perfect, or you can't improve and grow from your errors.
He did his time, like a lot of us. Just let this brotha be great, and watch the elections unfold.
