Long Island Kid Done Went Missing and Turned Up Dead in the Water: Real Talk
Fifteen-year-old found in Brooklyn waters after ghostin' from school, highlights the dangers kids face out here.

Aight, listen up. This ain't no fairy tale. This Thomas Medlin, a 15-year-old from Long Island, disappeared after dippin' out from school and headin' to NYC. Now they found his body in the water off Red Hook. That's messed up, straight up.
Word on the street is he went to meet somebody he met on Roblox. Now, I ain't hatin' on the gaming, but these kids gotta be careful who they messin' with online. These predators be lurkin', man. They see young blood lookin' for connection and they try to swoop in and take advantage. It's a cold world out here, especially for these youngins.
Roblox talkin' 'bout they got safety measures. That's cap. Ain't no app gonna protect you from a grown-ass adult with bad intentions. Parents gotta be on point, know what they kids doin' online. But let's be real, some parents ain't even around. Some kids raisng themselves out here. That's the real tragedy.
The police sayin' there ain't no criminal activity. I don't know 'bout that. A kid disappears and then turns up dead? Somethin' ain't right. But the system ain't gonna look too hard when it's just another Black or Brown body, or some kid from the suburbs. That's just how it is.
This ain't just about Roblox either. It's about the bigger picture. These kids growin' up in a world that's movin' too fast. They seein' all this stuff online, gettin' all these mixed messages. They need guidance, they need support, they need somebody to show them the way. But who's gonna do it?
The schools ain't doin' it. The churches ain't doin' it. The government definitely ain't doin' it. It's up to us, the community, to look out for these kids. Teach them about the dangers, show them love, and let them know they ain't alone.
This Thomas Medlin situation, that's a wake-up call. We gotta do better. We gotta protect our youngins. They the future, and if we don't take care of them, who will? Rest in peace to that young man, and may his story be a lesson to all of us.
